    Management at top was excellent, except for the housekeeping director

    Cons

    you will learn a lot, be busy and actually help guests.

    Advice to Management

    don't let your directors treat their employees badly, it reflects on all the company.

    The benefits of working at Kiawah are you get benefits from the resort and the people (staff) is great.

    Cons

    The managers are somewhat rough on employees and expect too much from their employees. They have thier employees over worked.

    Advice to Management

    Hire more people and Do your job!!

    Pros

    It is a great community to learn about the art of hospitality and client relations. The respect level all employees have for the guests of the island is a real testament to the company.

    Cons

    The work life balance is not the best, as all salaried jobs in hospitality seem to be. Also, the salaries are not competitive enough to really keep the quality managers on site.

    Advice to Management

    Please invest more into your managers in the form of monetary compensation.

    Beautiful resort to work at during summers. Very hard work but you are making money.

    Pros

    Beautiful golf course I got to work at being The Ocean Course. Everyone on Kiawah is very friendly. All about the customer. Would love to work there again.

    The drive from anywhere in Charleston is a long one.

    Evaluate everyone.

    Pros

    Employee perks, great co-workers, fun jobs, beautiful work environment, training and development, HR mentors, people are held accountable, interesting guests, STANDARDS, etc.

    Cons

    Commute to work - may travel 20 miles but at least you are moving as opposed to sitting in traffic. You will have to work most holidays but that is part of being in hospitality.

    Continue to allow time for personal development

    Pros

    Absolutely beautiful environment; great guests; colleagues are wonderful and passionate about what they do; gives employees the opportunity to advance; each employee is empowered to do whatever it takes to make the best guest experience possible

    Cons

    Long drive from Charleston; upper management is at times too focused on the bottom line at the expense of updating equipment and systems; uses antiquated technology; Micro management from hotel directors; hypocrisy; pays well below industry standard; is more focused on what Forbes thinks than guest experiences. President too involved in line level decisions at times.

    Advice to Management

    Get new updated software. Operate at your best on a daily basis and stop trying to spot the inspector at every turn. Let the pros do thier jobs (golf doesn't know f&b; f&b doesn't know golf).
