I have been working at Kids 'R' Kids full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Great opportunity! Fun fulfilling environment. Wonderful people. Great training program.

    Cons

Difficulty finding people that want to provide more than a babysitting service.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be sure to explain to new employees that they will be required to teach, clean, and be professional. Many don't last past a couple of weeks when they realize Kids R Kids is a school not a babysitting service.

I have been working at Kids 'R' Kids full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

I really love where I work. I think they are very supportive and that they give lots of opportunities for growth within the company. I love how I have been able to grow and take on more responsibilities as time has gone on.

    Cons

Finding the time to get everything done is a big challenge and finding way to grow the programs that I am in charge of can at times be challenging.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Pros

If the school has a director, and they are a quality employee, the school will, more than likely, have quality care and policies and methods. Rooms are, indeed, clean and normally stocked with nice items.

    Cons

School leadership is ALWAYS hit or miss if the owners do not care. Teachers may genuinely care about their students, but it is difficult to produce effective teaching methods and care methods if the owners do not invest in their schools.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Make sure to more often send a corporate employee to your schools to inspect not just the children's care, but the methods of which they use to discipline, how they construct a curriculum, and their director's programs, if they at all have one.

I have been working at Kids 'R' Kids

    Pros

The people are close and you get so attached to your students. Also, My boss was amazing! I worked here for 4 years and she came the last year.

    Cons

Management issues and the owner is very very rude. Little growth but thy may be changing that...
For a Christmas party one year I got a $10 HEB gift card. That was my Xmas bonus!!!! Ridiculous!!! While the owner has like 3 daycares, restaraunts, hotels, and her husband is a brain surgeon!!! They really need to compensate good staff! Such a high turnover rate because of this.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen to your teachers!! They are in the rooms!!
Compensate your staff!!!! Many many times I felt undervalued and unappreciated by upper management. Also- they have recently started hiring from within but it is causing a lot of issues bc no one knows where anyone stands. We had a new director and none of the teachers were notified!!!!!!!! She didn't tell anyone! Only sent a memo out to the parents from the front desk.
