Pros
They listen to ideas, If the idea is developed and tested, they are willing to move forward and us within their organization.
Cons
Some people are set in their ways, which may hinder different ideas and concepts to be introduced or considered.
Pros
Most lower level co-workers are very nice and supportive. Good pay and benefits, depending on your job. Pretty good balance between work and personal life.
Cons
Run by the good ol' boy network. If you don't have the ear of someone in upper management, you won't go anywhere in this company. Very arrogant corporate culture. Customers are not important at all. Too many acronyms and no one will explain them. Very poor job training. If you can see a better way to do a task, it won't go anywhere - the only ideas that are implemented come from upper management.
Advice to Senior Management
Listen to your employees. They are the ones doing the job and know how to get it done. Throw out the current annual review process - the team leader can skew it so your performance looks good or bad, depending on how he/she wants it to be.
Pros
While the brand teams can be pretty intense and work schedules pretty crazy- there is plenty of flexibility to manage you schedule as needed to maintain work/life balance. On site gym is a nice bonus.
Lots of opportunities for growth and advancement- but you have to be aggressive about going after them. Good people.
Cons
Work load can be crazy at times- particularly since head count was reduced last year. Senior leadership is often disconnected from the day-to- day business and the people that run it.
Advice to Senior Management
Get to the know the team more and listen to what people really have to say.
Pros
Work Flexibiiity and really good co-workers on your teams. It's a great place to make friends. People work well together on teams.
Cons
-It is hard to advance if you were not recruited in from college
-Incompetence in management at many levels
-Culture of fear
-Many issues that do not get addressed
-Angry, upset, disgruntled employees at all levels
-Cannot hold on to top talent because they leave after short periods of time
Advice to Senior Management
Management needs training on how to be leaders. Many people in leadership are not true leaders. They do not know how to develop people and they do not value diversity of opinion. If KC had better management, this would be a great company to work for and KC. Employees currently are working to do the bare minimum to hold onto a job, not to really see the business grow and prosper. There is unethical behavior at many levels of leadership and no one is addressing it.
Pros
It used to have quality products and value quality in their employees.
It's easy to snow the current management.
Cons
Management is now comprised of those who could not make it otherwise, so disappointing.
Advice to Senior Management
The doers have left, or are leaving the company. Their talent, while "expensive" is what made the company what it was. If you aren't expanding and producing new, sell off and pay off the retirees.
Pros
They offer many amenities such as yoga classes & an olympic sized swimming pool on site.
Cons
So much corporate politics & favoritism amongst managment & employees. Too manymeetings - cant complete your workload.
Advice to Senior Management
listen to your employees - ALL of them. You may realize the middle management isnt telling the truth.
Pros
Learning, brand building, career development
Cons
Location, lack of enterprise thinking
Pros
Kimberly Clark has great health and dental benefits. The 401k and profit sharing within the 401k is very good. The compensation is very competitive if not better than most companies. If you like working at the same position with a low chance of being laid off then it is a great company to work for until retirement.
Cons
The compensation does not include any bonus unless you are a Director level. The growth potential in the company is limited. Many positions that are higher levels are usually selected from an external candidate or someone preselected in the company. Highly political company to get ahead.
Advice to Senior Management
Look at the talent within the company and learn to cultivate it so you can achieve the level of growth needed. Also, provide bonus at all levels that encourage people to take more risk. Create an environment based on honest discussion and debate. Many managers really don't listen to their team and the results can reduce morale. I would listen to the change agents more and spend the time to grow those employees or you will lose them.
Pros
good salary (until mgt initiates salary cuts) and benefits;
the people are generally great
Cons
Management. Management. Management.
lack of career path;
no promotion opportunities;
Pros
People you work with are enjoyable. The pay is great. Traveling is availible for co-ops. If you travel it's all-expense paid for. Lots of activities with other co-ops.
Cons
Can get a bit repetative and there's not a lot of direction. Everyone sometimes assumes you know acronyms when you have no idea what they are talking about.
Advice to Senior Management
Give more direction/explain in more detail what is needed to be done. Also take the time to fully explain the situation and give examples.
