Prossure is a flashy place to work at

Consterrible benefits for hourly workers, especially when compared to other hotel chains (Marriott, Hilton, etc.)
trying to get an employee room rate at another location is practically impossible

Good company - flying slightly under the radar

    Anonymous (Current Employee)
    New York, NY

    ProsGrowing company
Different culture: not necessarily trendy or completely corporate

ConsPromotional options seem to be biased towards anyone that DIDN'T go to school in Boston !!!

Advice to Senior ManagementYou have excellent people within your organization that are looking to grow and develop. Work with them, and give clear guidance as to why as opposed to why not!!

Overrated in Product and as an Employer

    Director of Catering (Former Employee)
    Portland, OR

ProsI actually liked my job itself and it paid well (though a lot was expected) and there were some nice people there.

ConsWeird work allocation, hypocritical policies, cult-like, horrible upper management, no training, secret, illegal employee files, you'll only hear about the bad things you do, never the good.

Advice to Senior ManagementFor starters follow the law and hold all your employees equally accountable. While I worked there I saw employees reprimanded for minor infractions, while chefs were falling down drunk while working and GMs dated direct reports.

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company

    Great company as a whole

    Front Desk Agent (Former Employee)

ProsProvided full benefits, promoted growth from within, cross training in any department. Got along with majority of colleagues and management, team players all around. Most employees 'happy.' Kimpton as an entirety is a great place to work for.

ConsUnprofessionalism in some departments and favoritism. Many things have changed within the Kimpton culture from when I began, there is no structure, which can either work well or terribly with no accountability.

Advice to Senior ManagementTreat everyone equally. Company policy should be followed by everyone and not just a few. Lead by example.

    A great place to work

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

ProsAmazing benefits, Diversity and company culture is probably the best in the industry, They want you to be yourself and things like tattoos, piercings, open sexuality and other things of that nature take a backseat to your talents.

ConsThey don't pay the industry standard for their hourly employees but pay salaried employees much more than average

Advice to Senior ManagementHourly employees should be compensated at a comparable wage to other hotels on this level

Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend
