    KInecta Member Service Rep II

Member Service Representative (Former Employee) Los Angeles, CA

ProsThe people are great and nice. The company reaches out to the community. Mission and vision of company are highly demonstrated. STaff is given necessary resources to succeed. Overall great company to work for.

ConsIts slowly becoming into a bank type environment with aggressive sales goals and task. Little or no room for advancement within the company.

Kinecta has many third-party software to support

Programmer Analyst (Former Employee) Manhattan Beach, CA

ProsThe people are great, courteous and nice. The culture of the company is that it wants to reach out to the community; so there are ample opportunities to help the community.

ConsIt is hard for a Credit Union (CU) to compete against big banks, given that both CU's and big banks operate under similarly stringent regulations. You would want to learn to be frugal with the CU's resources.

Advice to Senior ManagementThe management team is very approachable, and they listen to input from employees. The management team's business acumen is high, but their action is very cautious, slow and steady. As a result, the revenue stream is also slow coming in.

VP position, worked at main branch 6 yrs.

Vice President (Former Employee) El Segundo, CA

ProsFor the first four years they had great CEO and top level management. Good work ethic among colleagues. Always a challenge that gave numerous opportunities to learn new skills and be recognized .

ConsBoard fired several CEO's in quick succession. Hired another CEO that laid off approximately 80% of VP replaced by former employees of CEO. For the first time in its history the company was in the red.needless to say that CEO was terminated. All this term oil at the top has produced a long lasting effect of distrust with Management and high turnover and low morale.

Advice to Senior ManagementManagement not likely to take advice from this type of forum, much less a former employee.

    Horrible, horrible company

Financial Advisor (Current Employee) Manhattan Beach, CA

    ProsGreat parking lot and location.

ConsShortchanged on commission regularly, given more work without pay or promotions.

Advice to Senior ManagementYou cannot run a business with a skeleton staff, hire more ppl and place them properly.

    The work/life balance is great!

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee) Manhattan Beach, CA

ProsReasonable hours allow for a good work/life balance, good location right off the 405 freeway, nice people to work with, and dynamic work.

ConsMinimal room for growth, slow moving to make decisions, very bureaucratic, not particularly stable, significant turnover over the past few years.

    Unstable environment

Anonymous Employee (Former Employee) El Segundo, CA

ProsThe associates are great to work with and their benefits are great. They also have flexible work schedules and they pay well. The banking side is better than the loan side.

ConsLending operations are struggling and unstable. Management doesn't seem to be really be interested in the staff. Make loans and cutting costs are their focus and nothing else matters. I don't think that top management really knows what is going on.

Advice to Senior ManagementThey need to really find out what is going one by communicating with the working staff and find new management who can engage the staff and make the company a good place to work again.

    Don't Work Here!

Vice President (Former Employee) Manhattan Beach, CA

ProsConvenient branches located in South Bay area.
    Good benefit package for employees.
    Always hiring.
At one time, this Credit Union was ranked the 10th largest in the nation.

ConsHigher than average turnover for employees in this Industry.
Low employee morale is always kept a secret.
Continuous budgeting cuts eliminate jobs frequently.
Senior level positions also have high turnover. Check the company history to find how many times they have changed the Chief Financial Officer position in the last 5 years! Also VP and SVP positions..

Advice to Senior ManagementBoard members have always been an "Old Boy's Club", with a tight reign on the day-to-day management of the company.

    Confused Direction

Anonymous Employee (Former Employee) Manhattan Beach, CA

ProsEmployees make the best of it to try to boost moral with events in each department. Many employees have been there a while.

ConsMany employees feel stuck. They are comfortable enough not to try to find other employment, but dissatisfied, and constantly complain. The company has some great leaders at the Director or VP level, but since the company has had very little good direction, the hands of the good leaders have been tied. The company is a credit union but acts more like a mortgage bank. They took a very "Countrywide" business plan due to the fact that many countrywide employees came to Kinecta. COmpany moral is low due to many rounds of layoffs. Board of Directors have turned the credit union into a good olde boys club. They have all been on the board for countless years and don't know how to lead.

Advice to Senior ManagementFind your roots in member service and being a credit union like Lockheed FCU, or Western.

It was good while it lasted

Director (Former Employee) Manhattan Beach, CA

    ProsGenerally nice, low-key work environment
Good work location close to beach
    Reasonable work expectations

ConsManagement gives lip service that "employees are most valuable asset"
You'll stay employed as long as financials are good...otherwise they'll lay you off
It says "credit union" on the outside of the building, but they don't really operate that way.

Advice to Senior ManagementTreat your employees with more respect and dignity when you lay them off

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend
