I have been working at Kingfisher full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Hard work ethic of all employees. Approachable management at any level and very good communication skills between all teams. Good career oppertunities and course availability.

    Cons

Parking facilities can sometimes be extremely busy.

I have been working at Kingfisher full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

Good benefits. Enthusiastic and good quality personnel. Good working environment. Interesting projects and the opportunity to work with colleagues across Europe.

    Cons

No opportunity to progress if your face doesn't fit. Big differences in line management capability and methods and too much time an effort put into annual Gallup poll and objective setting. Some departments appear hopeless and communication leaves a lot to be desired.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Fix a strategy, communicate it and stick to it. When making changes involve those colleagues that the changes affect - you'll get better buy - in and gain an insight into which processes need updating.

I have been working at Kingfisher full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Good company, nice people, good culture. I've been pretty happy there in the 2+ years I've worked there. Good pension as well.

    Cons

Nothing company specific but more to do with my role. Like most big corporates the hours can get long but generally it is ok.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Corporate card perks should include Screwfix...

    I worked at Kingfisher

    Pros

Can't think of any yes that bad!

    Cons

The desk is run like a concentration camp,no talking amongst colleagues unless it involves work, no breaks allowed, if your from your chair for more then 10 minutes you are questioned about your whereabouts upon return, no progression allowed unless you seriously complete some hardcore probationary brownosing, even then very little chance of progressing on to another team due to lack of exposure to their systems, leads push you to take only half an hour lunch every day and if you decline you are considered to be disruptive to the team and not exebit the behaviour required.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Speak to each employee individually, get feedback and act upon it, recognise individual strengths and weaknesses and them in the area that would best suite the company, do not leave it to the leads who are incompetent if making decisions,

I have been working at Kingfisher full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Nice people for the most part. Many departments do precious little work and the staff working there have fairly relaxed lives.

    Cons

The business has been locked for years in interdivisional fighting between senior management, the company has underinvested in online and won't be able to compete in the future. B&Q especially is in dire straights and their umpteenth CEO seem to be faltering with staff increasingly confused

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Maybe it's time for a new top team?

I worked at Kingfisher as a contractor (more than a year)

    Pros

Great company with good values. Good work life balance. Understanding supervisor and peers.
Plenty of Training and opportunities and meet wider team.

    Cons

Travelling is a common thing as stakeholders and the wider team is located both in uk and france which makes some morning start extra early.

I worked at Kingfisher full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

Private health cover - on site gym and cafe

    Cons

Toxic work environment. Management scratch each others backs at the loss of their staff. Do not respect staff and see them as a negative rather than an asset.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Change your culture! do not listen to team leaders and managers talk to your staff and take on board what they are saying! you may find you have a lower turn over.
