    Pros

    Kingston presents a great team dynamic, and the ability to learn and grow in my chosen profession. The office aesthetics are amazing, and the Home Office is strategically placed in the downtown Toledo, OH area. Leadership is hands on and is really making a positive impact in effecting change.

    Cons

    Kingston is growing, and with it comes challenges. These challenges however are not show stoppers, and the team has really learned to adapt and evolve.

    Pros

    They provide great care for the residents.
    Skilled rehab care is excellent

    Cons

    As a nurse or nurses assistant u are nothing but a pon. U can work so hard and nothing is good enough. Staff treated poorly as if they are all replaceable. Good staff that works together is not always easy to find. You give your all and then your just done with them, they let you go. Horrible place to work. Great on the floor staff. Management and corp not so good

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Praise good work ethic as well as noting if something is done wrong. Realize that the nurses and stna make that place run. They do the hands on care. Don't bad mouth after you have gotten rid of all employees that were there forever. Now it is hard for them to even get another job.

    Pros

    The residents and their families.

    Cons

    A lot of politics amongst office staff, you notice it if you work around them. Not so much with Nursing. If you work a two week notice, they put you as a no rehire. They do this to a lot of people.

    Pros

    some of the residents are very grateful for the help, making them smile is the best!

    Cons

    -the only people that advance are friends of the managers daughter
    -the Kingston Kaptains are extremely fake and lie to management to get ahead
    -the equipment is always breaking down and the maintenance man blames the aides for it and then never fixes it
    -i told a manager something I didn't want to tell her because she promised me she wouldn't tell the person I was telling on and then she did right away
    -everyone is over worked because they are so short on staff and the managers expect you to act like nothings wrong
    -they will mandate you for the next shift and if you have an excuse they will threaten your job
    -there's no accountability for aides that do a bad job, so if you have a conscience you end up picking up everyone's slack
    -the food is awful and the back of the house always gets left overs
    -the pay sucks

    listen to what you're employees tell you, they're not as stupid as you think

    The people I work with are caring people,they love the satisfaction of helping other people and so do I.I love working with alzheimers residents,everyday is something new.I love helping other people,it gives me gratification.

    Losing people who pass away is hard sometimes,I try to keep in mind that they are in a better place.

    providing health care to the elderly

    Cons

    working with management nurses who think they are to good use their nursing skills on patients. They would prefer to let the patients go without before helping. Cutting staff hours. Disciplining nurses who stay over 10 minutes on the clock to complete work.

    Say hello and greet the patients that are paying your salary. Respect the employees that work for Kingston.

    Pros

    Up to date on technology. Job descriptions are clearly understood. Pleasant surroundings.
    On sight physical therapy, salon, activity rooms, and nice dining area.
    Skilled staff. Most floor supervisors are very focused and professional in the discharge of their duties.

    Cons

    Some are not.
    Unfocused Management disconnect from each other as well as subordinates.
    Discrimination all the way around.
    In-fighting among unfocused nurses and unfocused nurse aides who jockey for attention and 'position' by slamming those they don't like, takes away from their focus on high quality resident care, as well as put residents at risk of sub-standard care.
    Unbelievably unprofessional staff at times, in treatment of one another. Residents see and hear this.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Resident care, safety and comfort is number 1.
    The employee turnover rate here does seem too high for the industry.
