    Pros

Culture Snacks-Healthy Parties-holiday, summer Show attendance Travel policy People employed all are super and want to see everyone succeed

    Cons

Sales management are short sighted. Management needs re -vamping. Market is limited due to product only serving small entities that limits the sales of the sales people that do not make a lot to begin with. I have been here for awhile and concerned about future due to product imitations and no real clear answers from management in sales who are equally not happy

    Advice to Management

invest in our product. Hire experienced sales management. Pay higher wages. Good talent that has enough to work thru without hiring more sales people who take away from our patch

    Pros

Home health care is a very big trend. SaaS is a very big trend. Great place to learn about a small technology company. Atmosphere is pretty driven. Very good, agile-orient engineering team.

    Cons

CEO is the only person making product decisions. Do not question his baby. Check out the number of former product managers. It is kind of absurd. The product is built (at least was) on a pretty antiquated platform -- moving the technology to something more maintainable is crucial and almost impossible at this point. The employees of the company that are from the Home Health Care are nice, but not technology savvy -- can produce some weird awkward friction. Company was bought out by private equity firm. At some point they'll figure out what they bought -- they won't be happy.

    Advice to Management

Move CEO to a CTO role.

    Pros

Decent pay and good benefits for an entry level tech support position.

    Cons

It's a Mickey Mouse, high school environment. The only way to advance in the company is if the "cool kids" (managers and supervisors) like you and you're in their circle, otherwise you get nothing. The tech support job is really intended for a younger person who is new to the workforce. Older employees who have a solid resume, proven work experience and a good education are treated the same as a person who is just starting out. They claim it's not a metrics based call center, but if your lunch runs over two minutes or if you take a ten minute restroom break or if you clock in one minute past your start time, you get reprimanded. Answering phones in a call center has it's own set of challenges, but they make things unbearable by micromanaging their employees.

    Advice to Management

Micromanaging doesn't work for everyone, especially adults who have paid their dues in the workforce and know how to handle their job. Stay in touch with your employees on the floor. Morale is super low and nobody enjoys coming to work. Change the tone of the office. Give people a reason, other than a paycheck, to come to work. Give me incentives to do a better/good job. Breakfast tacos, gold stars and internet high fives doesn't work for everyone. This isn't kindergarten.

I worked at Kinnser Software full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

-Communication regarding direction -Development of the product and product management -Agile sessions to understand what different departments were contributing -Snacks and the coffee machines

    Cons

-Not a lot of direction or career advancement -Direction changes quickly -No work from home option -Close tight knit groups can make a new comer feel like an outsider

    Advice to Management

-Keep the open door policy -There are problems in certain departments with people that are like cancer. You will lose good talent if those individuals are not promoting a team environment -Managers need to be sensitive to having a regular "entourage". It looks like favoritism

    Pros

Kinnser hires great people who all bring something to the table. The camaraderie among most departments is very tight and the company has always had an open-door policy that fosters open communication.

    Cons

The Technical Support Department, the largest department within the company, may as well be a different company. Not only is it isolated from the rest of the company departments by several floors, it's also such an understaffed and overwhelmed department that its employees are too tightly scheduled and overworked to partake of many of the company's team building and social events. The staff in this department have an entirely different experience working for this company than everyone else.

    Advice to Management

Take the necessary steps sooner rather than later to better staff your Technical Support Department and train its managers in order to make it a more rewarding work environment before turnover becomes a chronic issue.

    Pros

They have snacks and a pretty cool office theme; band posters. Most of the employees are super friendly, HR department people are awesome!

    Cons

Sales & Marketing departments are so disconnected from each other, it was like pulling teeth in joint meetings trying to get things done. In the Marketing department, unless you are events, you are ignored and often belittled by other departments. The Strategy department often tried to overshadow the Marketing department. There are definitely some cliques around the office.

    Good company with strong future

    Cons

Employees are well treated and happy in other departments but tech support is the ugly stepchild in the company. Not much mobility.

    Advice to Management

Treat Support better as they are the face of the company.

    Pros

Great pay and benefits lots of travel opportunity.

    Cons

They did not promote from within the department. Favoritism was a morale killer and gossip was a problem.

    Advice to Management

The training team is essential and you should include them in your sales meetings so that information is the same when the product is being demonstrated to be sold and the customer/trainer is not blind sided when it comes time for training.

    Pros

Great work/life balance, great co-workers, fun work environment, rewarding work, appreciative customer base,

    Cons

expensive healthcare, technologies and processes in place are not cutting edge: Coldfusion, non MVC, non object oriented, not using XP

    Advice to Management

Keep up the good work and keep moving in the right direction: incorporating better and more main-stream technologies and processes
