    Pros

Lots of room for growth within the company. There are many training classes and workshops offered to assist in the development of managers, who in return develop the employees. Assistant managers are groomed for store manager positions from the beginning. Building employee confidence through the use of training programs is the upside of working for Kirklands. Promoting within the company is a common practice. The company stays up to date with technological advances.

    Cons

Floor sets are time consuming and can require late night shifts.

    Advice to Management

Try to keep floor set scheduled for Sundays or early mornings.

    Advice to Management

Coach and follow up. Plan and organize.

    Pros

I really liked the staff at my location. I also liked that they were flexible about days you wanted off, you just have to let management know a good two weeks in advance.. Although where I worked a week was fine.

    Cons

No hours. Try to limit everybody to 20 hours each each

    Advice to Management

    More hours!

    Pros

Discounts, mostly a flexible schedule, meet new people, always something to do! Ability to use discounts on clearance merchandise which allows for great buys!

    Cons

Too many floor moves, unrealistic expectations, unloading trucks with extremely heavy freight. Too much inconsistency. Manager at my location consistently broke company policies. No cleaning crew. Too much glitter on merchandise!

    Advice to Management

Store manager at my particular location should have led by example. Very unstable person and too much time talking about her personal issues. You can't stick roses in a butt hole & call it a vase!
