    Project Manager

    Project Manager (Former Employee)
    San Diego, CA

ProsThey offer great benefits, Continuous Training for employees. There is a lot of employee interaction to get people involved. Decent work to life balance. Good vacation time.

ConsManagement has no idea of what Lean construction is all about. Pay is on the very low end of the scale. Heavy upper management that is totally out of touch with the working folks.

Advice to Senior ManagementLean up the construction. Trim the fat too many Project Directors, Project Executives, Sr this Senior that. Recognize new and GOOD talent when you see it and learn to PAY what is industry standard for the position.

Great place - Opportunity to grow and contribute

    (Current Employee)
    Phoenix, AZ

ProsThis is a great place to make a mark - literally - on projects that leave a lasting legacy. Lots of opportunity to grow within the job and aspire to leadership. Retirement benefits through employee ownership are a great bonus.

ConsVery few - for someone who's had a lot of work experience it's the bomb! The only problem I have is that a key is required to use the women's bathroom at the main office.

Advice to Senior ManagementBe honest, transparent and make those who work for you accountable.

Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company

Organization needs to have a better vision across all departments, divisions, and companies

    Applications Developer (Current Employee)
    Phoenix, AZ

ProsWorking from home, or time off isn't a big problem when you really need to do it. Pay is average

ConsNot very good leadership in the organization
Decision making is usually by the seat of the pants
Too many people waiting to retire to cash in private stock options at a terribly inflated price
New employees cannot get into the stock program without spending a lot of money

Advice to Senior ManagementDoing business the way you always have done it before doesn't mean you'll be in business tomorrow. Executives need to make executive decisions sometimes, consensus leadership takes too long and doesn't win the organization work. One group has too much say and then when they can't produce they blame others. Accountability doesn't exist. The network admin can crash systems all day long, but has been there for 15 years.

    Good Place To Work At

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsKitchell is a medium to large size construction company. It's well established and many office locations. Employees are friendly and easy going; not all but most. Company understands family and work relations. The company has gained respect in the industry. Has several divisions and ranks in order to grow in the company.

ConsSometimes it feels las if your work is not appreciated. Supervisors don't always take time to listen or teach someone. Helath care insurance is not the best. No room for creativity, everythihg has a procedure that needs to be followed. It seems that new ideas are not welcomed. Equipment and materials are not always available.

Advice to Senior ManagementListen to employees, they are the ones dealing with all the day to day problems.
