I worked at Kitsap County full-time for more than 8 years
Pros – They believe in family first over employment and will do anything to help in anyway possible for a sick family member.
Cons – They do not take care of their employees if there is a dispute among co-workers. They do not believe one co-worker if the person is ganged up on by their other co-workers. Bad management skills and investigating complaints.
Advice to Senior Management – To really investigate a situation when an employee tells you something is taking place instead of turning back around on the employee.
Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company

I have been working at Kitsap County
Pros – They have very good benefits and retirement system depending on your job. They have a family atmosphere and care about their employees and their families. If your looking for a fairly stable workplace then this is the place for you.
Cons – The pay is low in some professions. You have budget restraints due to taxes going up and down. The higher paid positions are mostly for elected officials so if you are looking for a high paying job, this is not the place to be. Though it’s great if you are running for office!
Advice to Senior Management – This is a hard one to answer because the county relies on taxes to survive but at the same time they have to maintain fiscal responsibility. Overall they are doing a good job but in order to keep the best and the brightest they would either have to expand their salaries or give promotions. I don't really see this happening in the near future.
