    Great location. good travel benefits if you have the time.

    Pros

    Kiwi Collection has a very open atmosphere, where collaboration is encouraged. The location of the office is great, on Water Street in Gastown. People work well together and individual contributions are recognized.

    Cons

    none at this time.

    Advice to Management

    continue to provide opportunities for the team for advancement and training.

    Pros

    Good for first graduate or junior position. You're gonna learn a lot of stuff that would be useful for future career. Great manager and great coworkers

    Cons

    Compensation somewhat is low. Management keep changing and doesn't offer job security.

    Advice to Management

    Give fair compensation for good staffs and trust them.

    Pros

    August 2014:
    Friendly company culture, much to the credit of the president and co-founder
    Smart, open-minded coworkers
    Lots of opportunity to contribute to the success of the company
    Great environment for developers
    Good work/life balance

    Cons

    Most of the cons aren't really applicable anymore. There was a lot of turmoil a couple of years ago, but since the change in leadership and fine-tuning of the company's focus and business model as well as return to financial stability, it's been a much better place to work.

    Pros

    - High energy, fast paced environment
    - Day to day tasks have a big impact to the overall company
    - Great people to work with; fun company events
    - Long working hours is an exception, not the norm. Feels rare for a tech company.
    - Feeling that the company can really take off at any moment
    - Gastown (Vancouver, Canada) is a fantastic neighborhood to work in with tons of tech buzz surrounding it.

    Cons

    - Fast paced environment can be stressful
    - Lots of turnover in the past*
    - Too much work to be accomplished; not a lot of downtime
    - Lack of communication between departments

    *There was some issues with Senior Management in the past, though there has been much housekeeping since.

    Advice to Management

    Stay focused on only the projects that are going to have the biggest impact.

    Communication is lacking a bit from upper management. Also not alot of room to grow within the company.

    Pros

    hmmm...travel perks and great colleagues....

    Cons

    I worked for Kiwi Collection a few years ago and I hear that many things have changed, however, during my time there, people within the same unit, with the same experience and duties where getting significantly different pays and there was no trust or no way you could work with upper management to reach your career goals. Terrible work culture that is trying to promote amazing Travel destinations don't go hand in hand.

    Listen to your employees and stop restructuring every 5 months....

    Pros

    - 10 room nights, but only where they have vouchers and all the good ones are reserved for selling or for "business", so really unless you want to fly to Africa... (flights are not included). Some people have the ability to reserve vouchers for themselves but others don't.
    - Great location in downtown with good view
    - Enjoyable staff and great caring fun colleagues
    - Nice computers
    - Free cake once a month
    - Nice product and website
    - Lots of potential
    - Partnership with Visa
    - Beer days in the summer

    Cons

    - All decisions are made at upper executive level, but if it doesn't work the staff are held accountable
    - Too much bureaucracy for a web company, every tiny little thing needs to be approved on the corporate level, hindering creativity or flexibility
    - Suggestions are shot down, but a few months later management will make the same suggestion and take credit
    - New CEO does not understand the hotel industry and makes demands that are not possible
    - Staff don't do what they believe is best for the company, but what they are told to do with no questions asked
    - New CEO barks questions and demands at staff and talks over you if you try to talk, so everyone has stopped providing their insights into how to improve the company. They avoid him at all costs.
    - Plans are not shared with team, if there are any long-term planning at all. Questionable whether or not management even knows how to write a proper business plan
    - New staff are hired because they are cheap labor not because they have relevant experience
    - Staff work overtime for free but when something isn't done, gets in trouble
    - You have to work an extra half hour to make up for your half hour lunch and you better not go over your half hour. A white collar job with blue collar mentality
    - Half of upper management does not even understand e-commerce or new media
    - People with no experience but willing to say yes to everything will get promoted into positions they are not fit for - the same people who point fingers when they mess up and still maintain a positive impression at the expense of their coworkers
    - Projects are expected to turnaround on short notice with no time for QA or testing - out of desperation instead strategy
    - People who left or were fired are not replaced. Current employees have to take on extra tasks and learn jobs outside their job descriptions, but have to answer to if these tasks are not done perfectly
    - No room for growth, but at least the late pay days are over so you don't have to miss any mortgage payments for your family

    Advice to Management

    Listen to your staff. They are not here to screw you over. They don't say no to you because they want to, but because they don't think it's a good idea or are not equipped with the resources to. Open up communication, share your plans and flatten the bureaucracy, give employees the ability to provide insight. Discuss ideas instead of demanding. Give credit where it's due. This is exactly why the last president did not work out and the company fell into an unprofitable state - because all the people hired to provide their expert advice and were courageous enough to stand up to him left when they weren't being heard. Everyone who stayed only did the necessary and kept their opinions to themselves. Employees were excited to turn things around when a new CEO was finally hired so let's keep it this way.

    Pros

    Since the company got rid of the previous CEO/President it is a joy coming to work. We now all have a voice and given the respect that we all deserve.

    Cons

    I really cannot think of anything negative to say. We still have some growing pains because of the condition that the last CEO left the company. But things are getting better and better.

    Advice to Management

    Keep doing what you are doing!!
