Pros – Knape & Vogt is a great environment for learning more about a particular area or field. It is also a great family friendly company with benefits and vacation to match.
Cons – Work areas a spread quite thin with few people doing to jobs of many. It is often difficult to be proactive when there are many things to take up available time.
Advice to Senior Management – Provide greater support to employees and prioritize work to be completed.
Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company
Pros – most of the people are nice and friendly to work with.
Cons – Line leaders not knowing what the hell they are doing. No training when it comes to the powder coat line, your expected to keep up when you really have no clue how the parts are to hang right on the hangers, and expected to know how to pack them when no one shows you. On one of the hottest days there was a a short 2 min shut down on the line and the line leader refused to let people go get a drink. Favoritism is HUGE, some people get to sit and pack parts on the john sterling area while the rest have to stand, on the powder coat line some will work and some stand around watching you work and nothing is said to them. They will call you names, put you down and when you take it to the management, nothing is done. They will get new people on the powder coat racking line and fire them within a week for not keeping up. They hire huge amounts of temps as people quit or get fired for stupid reasons and temps will work there for years without ever getting direct hired. The pay is NOT worth the crap you deal with on daily basis. Not a good place to work at all. They treat their people like crap.
No, I would not recommend this company to a friend
Pros – Fast Pace, new opportunities, strong leadership team, full support from stockholders, growing business who is looking to expand. Very challenging environment that is ever-changing.
Cons – Poor pay, many benefits were removed such as 401k match and tuition reimbursement. Poor IT environment which makes it difficult to complete several routine tasks.
Advice to Senior Management – I would recommend management to communicate more effectively within our divisions outside of the corporate headquarters. It would be nice to have all divisions on the same page as far as overall direction of the company.
