Pros
Leadership is very strong. Good career opportunities.
Cons
Benefits are national with no local options.
Pros
The company is small enough where you can learn from many different people and take on a multitude of rolls that may be outside your job description
Cons
Since knight is small the salaries are lower than other wall street firms. You have to contend with the poor market conditions
Advice to Senior Management
Management should do a better job of communicating with employees regarding positive or negative comments prior to any performance reviews and between review periods
Pros
Good Benefits along with Good Hours
Cons
Level of Nepotism is alarming. Many people in the firm are being passed over by upper management for promotion due to any reason other than having the experience or being qualified for the job.
Advice to Senior Management
Notice who deserves to receive certain positions and promotions and let others work their way up like some have to do.
Pros
Very dynamic environment
Everyones very supportive, the talent is good and the environment is healthy
The job is demanding, but you get a good balance of personal and work life compared to other similar companies.
Cons
No exposure to the business side.
No career advancement opportunities, you keep working on what you are hired to do.
Very hard to get raises and promotions internally.
Advice to Senior Management
Create an environment that would help the lowest level, get a better understanding of the business, the bosses dont allow business exposure to their employees.
Pros
Benefit, /Vacation and hours working.
Cons
Salary, Bonus and ability to move up
Pros
if you really have no other options
Cons
pressure cooker. get out there and sell sell sell.
your are managed through intimidation.
no real room for advancement.
Advice to Senior Management
Senior management seems good but distracted. They keep buying and focusing on new business ventures that are not a good fit for the company.
Went listed on the NYSE and they are the biggest third market trading firm? They talk the talk.
Pros
-Extremely good work life balance compared to competitors
-Producers are rewarded handsomely
-Benefits are pretty good
-Nice and down to earth colleagues
Cons
-Difficult to be promoted or get a raise internally
-Not attracting the top tier talent available
-Disorganized at times and lacks support staff in many departments
Advice to Senior Management
As Knight has grown quickly in the last few years, it would benefit from adding to the support infrastructure (administrative, technology, other support) to really realize growth.
Pros
Company is trying to move into many new playing fields and hopefully one day this strategy pays off big. If you like alot of responsibility and a fast paced environment Knight is great for that.
Cons
Hours usually long, stress is up there.
Advice to Senior Management
improve compensation for non sales/trader positions
