Don't even waste your time, I'm serious!!!!!

    I worked at Knight Transportation

    Pros

It's a job. If you don't have experience and no place to go.

    Cons

VERY Low pay!!!! Lots of layover and short runs all work and little money. They say sliding pay scale and don't put anything in writing. Told me 47 cents short haul 44 medium haul and 41 long haul. I got 25-23-19 cents. When I got my first pay stub I took truck straight Las Vegas terminal and turned it in. Cut my loses and flew home. In short you average about 60 bucks a day. Don't waste your time

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Rebuild your entire infrastructure, your company may have 4000+ trucks but you should have grown the support team with it you are really lacking in the fine details during orientation. I think that's because the trainers don't really know what's going on!!

Excellent Public Company that cares about its employees as much, if not more than anything else.

I have been working at Knight Transportation

    Pros

Never ever any knee jerk reactions. Don't simply win business for revenue, decisions are always made in the interest of the company and employees. Executive management cares about every single employee, regardless of what anyone's opinion is.

    Cons

There are some high level positions that are currently occupied buy individuals who may have been superstars at one point, but really are not effective anymore.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Keep up the good work.

Former Employee - Administrative Assistant/Parts Manager/Tire Manager in Tulare, CA

I worked at Knight Transportation full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

    Good company to work for.

    Cons

Never wrote up employees for failing in there duties, so employees that should have been fired could not be due to lack of a paper trail. Also certain employees, of a certain gender and age, would threaten law suits, and the company would back down.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Hold "EVERYONE" accountable. Appreciate and reward employees that go above and beyond in there job duties, and discipline the employees that need to be disciplined.

I worked at Knight Transportation full-time for more than a year

    Pros

If you want miles, you'll get them, but don't get caught driving in violation of your hours of service available.

    Cons

They will try to run you even when you're out of hours of service, and they only care about the cargo and not the driver. I've done everything and anything to get the job done, even when out of hours, and they've looked the other way. No thank you, no good job, just on to the next load. And when I needed their help, they threw me under the bus.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

It behooves you to treat your drivers with respect and courtesy, and actually tell your dispatch / driver managers to respect them more. The drivers are the ones who are putting their health, their lives, and their CDLs on the line, not to mention the fact that if it weren't for the drivers, you wouldn't be in the position you're in, and you treat them like dirt.

I worked at Knight Transportation full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    Very relaxed,
    Not very hard job.

    Cons

No paid time off till you've worked there a year,
You only get 5 days after that,
Other benefits are the bare minimum,
You are expected to put in 10 hour days minimum,
    No team moral,
If you have an idea of how to improve the company keep it to yourself. No one will listen to it.
    Tons of favoritism,
    The list could go on.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Make this a better place to work
