I worked at Knowles Corporation full-time

    Pros

Competitive pay, great benefits and other perks. Consistently voted as one of the best workplaces in Illinois.

    Cons

Sudden layoffs are a common occurrence and seem to be used as a way to motivate the remaining employees when mistakes affect product sales.

    Advice to Management

Be more efficient on the hiring and layoff cycles that occur. It does not look good for those employees that remain when people are being hired at the same time others are being laid off.

I have been working at Knowles Corporation full-time

    Pros

Dynamic environment, entrepreneurial, access to top management, truly global, strong innovation culture, good benefits, competitive pay and commitment to excellence.

    Cons

Work-life balance, too lean in certain areas, systems are average, training could be more formalized, lack of gender diversity and location makes recruiting difficult.

    Advice to Management

Act more strategic, look past the current quarter, invest in new businesses, increase spend on systems and training.

I have been working at Knowles Corporation full-time

    Pros

Employees are nice and make it tolerable. The coffee/soda bar are nice and employee events are fun when people are able to participate.

    Cons

Company benefits, policies and corporate culture is severely outdated and needs to be overhauled. Hardly any women in leadership roles (none on the Board of Directors), "Good Old Boys Network". Weed out the bad apples in management and long time employees that are closed-minded (not open to new ideas), inexperienced and impeding growth and progress. Not enough emphasis on the important things like strategy development & execution, cross-functional collaboration and keeping the company moving forward in new innovative/positive directions.

    Advice to Management

Way too many outdated processes and paper. It's time to invest in new IT solutions, tools and experienced people to make things faster, more efficient and a better quality product. Bring manufacturing back to USA. Way too much outsourcing, which results in tons of travel money literally "flying" out the door and employee burnout. No work- life balance and the bonus plan and salaries are well below industry standard. HR is too busy managing the never-ending revolving door and not spending much time on employee satisfaction/retention.

  9. Don't care about you, no work life balance.

I have been working at Knowles Corporation full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Industry should have good growth potential, some departments seem to be happy.

    Cons

Common to work long hours and weekends. Management just cares about the numbers, not the employees. Bonus program only good for a select few.

    Advice to Management

If you keep pushing people so hard they are going to break.

    Pros

None. Cold people. Cold environment. One of the most bizarre companies I have worked at.

    Cons

One of the coldest places ever worked at. People walk past you like you don't exist. Managers and Directors especially HR are fakes. Watch your back with them.

    Advice to Management

Keep on pretending you are the reason for the success.

I worked at Knowles Corporation full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The company pays quite well for most postions compared to industry standard. Very cross functional environment, so Finance, Marketing, Sales, and Management interact on a regular basis.

    Cons

Definitely not a 9-5 environment. Upper management has many requests but not enough headcount nor the IT system to support those requests. Guaranteed to work nights and weekends.

    Advice to Management

Increase lower level support to reduce hours needed to complete requests, or cut back on the amount of reporting and project requests.
