    Pros

    Easy Job not very challenging.

    Cons

Job is basically centered only on catching shoplifters. Poor Scheduling, Lack of communication, Lack of business partnership with LPM and DLPM, Regional Leaders lack professionalism. Lack of professionalism.

    Advice to Management

Change with the times and go after what really affects the bottom line of the business. Change focus from externals to internals and operational controls. The company losses far more off the bottom line from these avenues than with the external piece. Eliminate the LPM role as it is unwarranted overhead as any competent DLPM can manage without and control their business. Challenge the DLPM to manage their District and be more hands on with the training and development of the LPS. Institute a senior LPS role for stretch assignments and utilize for Internal Investigations.

    Pros

Flexible, late hours for moms who want to work when dad can be with the kids, students and people with other jobs. Great employee discounts. Great annual day at Great America.

    Cons

Policies to "make customers happy" got so ridiculous that it encouraged customers to lie to and lose all respect for employees because they learned that we had to say "yes" to whatever they claimed and wanted. Management changed. Employees were seen as expendable. What started out as a bunch of cheerful moms and students earning some money, working together, became a new bunch of beaten down people who were only there because they had bills to pay. Anyone who could leave, did.

    Advice to Management

Value and respect your employees so you attract and keep cheerful, quality, dedicated people. They are the face of your company that interacts with your customers multiple times daily.

    Pros

Employee discount, busy work, and opportunities to move up.

    Cons

Low pay, hours aren't very good,

    Advice to Management

Some supervisors are very lenient and some are very strict. There should be a balance between the two.

    Pros

It's a pretty fast pace environment, working mostly with customers rather doing your main assignment but a good company for the older class people rather than the younger generation.

    Cons

when working seasonal you have the opportunity to move to full0time but its rare if you get chosen to stay in some cases if you do get chosen you get more hours and it's worth it in the end.

    Pros

This company is always doing business so there are definitely no shortage of hours, which was always helpful with any payments or bills that were coming up. If you wanted the hours, all you had to do was ask!

    Cons

Some challenges of working here were working your butt off and not getting recognized enough for it. Really wares on your morale after a while.

    Advice to Management

Management should definitely spend a shift in their associate's shoes so that they know just how difficult it is to get all of their demands done in the short periods of time they give us.

Work overload and not enough people in the departments
    Hard to move up

    Pros

To be honest, the best you can hope for it some co-workers who are nice. Great place to start for 17 year olds who are new to the work force, but I suggest continuing to find other employment even after you find position here.
There are times when an "associate" has full autonomy in a matter and can dictate a situation without the need of a manager's assistance.

    Cons

Poor pay (non-negotiable no matter what qualifications you have. You will start at minimum wage, and you will be lucky if your pay exceeds minimum wage after even 10 years of service), performances based entirely on getting people to sign up for credit cards (No matter what your position is in the store), poor management from the very top to the bottom which leads to a very poor focus on entry level employees and more a focus on managements ability to force unethical priorities on employees, no focus on individual employee needs. The most important detail: managers are non-salaried employees, they will work 12+ hours (past their schedules shifts) 5 or more days a week with a skeleton crew of employees during the holiday season (three total cashiers if even that, one person in each department if even that, one person in stock, and one customer service cashier, while three or more E3's[managers] are currently clocked in), thereby consuming all the store's fund allocation towards employee pay to the managerial staff. The blame for the lack of "associates" available falls on whichever employee is performing worst that day (signing up the least amount of people for a credit card), specifically on registers.
Seasonal workers be cautioned, you are not allowed overtime pay, and they will shift your hours in their system to the next week while still requiring you to work your scheduled shifts in order to avoid paying you overtime, even if you are scheduled 39.75 hours with a closing shift, which can last anywhere from an hour to two hours past when you are scheduled, and you will not even receive the proper break periods for this extra time. During the holiday season this can mean staying until as late as 2:30am with no notice, while having a 6:45am opening shift scheduled for the "following" day (this specific detail applies to POS "associates" specifically.)
Unless you are a full-time employee (rare, by their own employee handbook definitions. I have never met one who wasn't a manager.) You do not receive sick days in any fashion, calling in sick will result in a "mark" on your "employment record", of which you get five.
You WILL be punished for at least %25 percent of your decisions at POS, even if you are following company guidelines. Despite the managers stressing you to use your own judgement and problem-solving, you will be criticized for not letting a manager handle a situation or for calling a manager to help with a situation regardless.

    Advice to Management

Stop trying to "sell" people credit cards as a main focus, half of the people I attempted to sign up were not approved and therefore received a negative adjustment to their credit rating from your inquiry, thereby only lowering the pool of potential clients. Treat your damn employees like people. GMs, please monitor the hours of your staff, ensure that your E3s are not going into overtime as they are not as necessary as they make themselves out to be. Their overtime pay (from what I monitored) alone could pay for at least 2-3 extra associates, who are more than capable of doing their jobs and making decisions without E3 intervention) working 25 hours a weeks or less, which would put less strain on the "team" as a whole in your stores.
Stop artificially inflating pries of goods so that your :sale: prices look more enticing to customers, this only leads to problems for employees.

    Pros

One gets to engage with the customers and have fun getting the work done in a fast pace environment.

    Cons

When one is working a seasonal position, he or she may not get a chance to get a part time regular position.

    Advice to Management

Try to offer the seasonal employees regular part-time employment after the season if over.
