Pros
friendly, easy, benefits, vacation time
Cons
low pay, bad hours, no horizontal moves
Pros
They always allowed me to schedule my work hours around my class schedule without "unintentionally" scheduling me for extra shifts like some other large chain stores do.
Cons
Forced point of sale associates to push signing up for a Kohl's credit card on shoppers in a predatory manner by offering money to associates who met a quota of people who signed up for the credit card.
Advice to Senior Management
Focus less on making your POS associates push a credit card onto people who shop at Kohl's because it is cheap, they do not need more credit card debt just so they can get 10-15% off of a purchase.
Pros
Easy Hours
Fun people to work with
Cons
Okay management
you never get a raise
Advice to Senior Management
your doing great
Pros
Good pay, friendly environment and a good discount.
Cons
As with any customer service job, the bad customers.
Advice to Senior Management
Work hard, don't slack, be honest and confident, and remember you are in a team environment.
Pros
Huge internship program makes for a very fun summer living in the dorms downtown Milwaukee
You actually perform work as a part of your team and help them by doing work and conducting 3 different projects
Access to senior management
Social/team-oriented atmosphere
Cons
Classes are a bit boring in the beginning
Headquarters is a maze of gray cubes
Gossip among employees
Long process to get new ideas implemented (has to go through many levels of management)
Lack of communication between departments
Advice to Senior Management
Create a formal interdepartmental communication system so everyone's on the same page
Design a system that allows all levels of employees to submit their innovative ideas straight to the decision makers
Pros
There is almost always something you can/will be doing, each day is different has has its own pace (some slow some fast), management will let you work in various departments to see which is the best fit, the system allows you to meet the needs/wants of customers, and coworkers try to be/are generally friendly.
Cons
Not too much wiggle room in terms of a promotion, hours could be a little better or at least more consistent, recognition is reserved only for those who solicit high credit applications, and the system for break length based on hours worked is bothersome.
Advice to Senior Management
In periodic performance reviews you say that we are average since our ability to solicit credit is average, so look at other factors when deciding if we are going above and beyond what is asked of us. Please stop making our shifts 6.5-6.75hrs long instead of 7hrs because you don't want us to have an extra 10min break.
Pros
Good Benefits. Good opportunities for advancement. Treats employees well. Work environment is good. There are a lot of classes to take.
Cons
Some of the downsides of working at Kohl's is that sometimes there is too much gossip in the departments among associates.
Pros

Cons
its always really busy and alot of work

Cons
Progression generally requires open availability for relocation (like most retail operations)
Advice to Senior Management
