    I worked at Kohl's full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

The work environment is great. The break room was huge with plenty of microwaves and refrigerators and vending machines along with a designated outdoor smoke area and plenty of eating space. The work is very simple and training is comprehensive.

    Cons

During seasonal employment they hired a lot of people who lacked common sense and that had a propensity for accidents and fights. Also these same people spent more time on their phones than doing their jobs. The supervisors and problem solvers had attitudes consistently.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Hire better people.

    I worked at Kohl's

    Pros

Seemed to semi work with my schedule considering I was still in school. Employee discount was added on top of things that were already on sale

    Cons

Very fast paced, especially during peak season when you are required to work 12 hour shifts. No time for mistakes to be made.

    Negative Outlook

I have been working at Kohl's as a contractor (less than a year)

    Pros

Friendly, great break room, clean. When I actually got a fulls day work I was pleased with the money I made but we just didn't get enough hours this peek season. Great discounts for holiday season.

    Cons

Cold, season ended too soon, over staffed. I was really looking forward to having a productive money making peek season but they hired too many people so we only worked our full hours a couple of times.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Scale down on the amount of people you hire for peek season.

I have been working at Kohl's full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

    Much to learn
Great way to build up your resume

    Cons

    Lack of appreciation
    Work/Life balance is a joke
Wages are not competitive until non-exempt status is reached
    Unrealistic expectations

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Communicate to your employees that you value their contribution. They want to hear it from YOU, not a screensaver or a pre-recorded video from a corporate executive.
