Former Employee – worked at Kona Grill full-time for more than 3 years

ProsGreat focus on quality. Small enough to adapt quickly to a fluid market with the structure and stability of a corporation. Smart people running the organization.

ConsLimited growth potential beyond GM at this point. Benefits outside of bonus are limited by the size of the company.

Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company

Houston, TX

Current Employee – been working at Kona Grill

ProsIt's really laid back and easy to work at. You get a lot of help while at work.

ConsSome of the clientele can be frustrating tippers. Sometimes long hours don't give you as much money as you want. It can be extremely slow some days.

Richmond, VA

Current Employee – been working at Kona Grill

ProsDefinitely a fun place to work, money is good, and employees actually care about each other and their jobs. A much better restaurant environment to work in then others in area.

ConsSome shifts while working on patio can be very hectic and if you only have experience with three table sections you would not do well here.

Advice to Senior ManagementBeing a little more lenient on company policies and not being as strict when you yourself are engaging in some of these.

Current Employee – been working at Kona Grill part-time

ProsThe scheduling if very flexible. With the use of online scheduling it is easy to get shifts covers or pick up shifts.

ConsToo big of a menu, ranging from pizza to sushi---with no real speciality. Quantity over quality in this case. Clientele is just as broad as the menu, making it hard to distinguish if it's supposed to be fine dining or a cheap bar.

Advice to Senior ManagementBe hands on and don't focus on micromanaging. These two things affect turnover rates.
