    Unappreciated

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

ProsThey started me off with great pay and hours.

ConsDidn't treat me right when I got hurt on the job. Actually fought them for 3 yrs just to get Workman's Comp.

Advice to Senior ManagementIf you claim to be a family oriented family then, treat your employees like they matter.

Good name on a resume, hard to progress

    Analyst (Former Employee) Northfield, IL

ProsThe best thing a job at Kraft offers is a really well known name on your resume to progress with in the future at other employers. The pace of work is generally pretty balanced and manageable. Nice side benefit of a company store with discounted food products.

ConsI found it hard to make meaningful connections, breach the bureaucracy, or move up in my career. The typical age of employees here seems a little higher than average, so as a younger person beginning your career it may be harder to be taken seriously here than in other companies or industries.

Advice to Senior ManagementOffer better career development and promotional opportunities for younger employees

A company with great potential, just not there yet...

    Brand Manager (Current Employee)

    ProsStrong bench of talent
    Exceptional brands
Strong intent to do the right thing for all stakeholders
Very open to change and evolution

ConsSlow to make decisions (but improving)
Still making short term, financial decisions rather than focusing on long term brand health
Will be a while before it is a marketing powerhouse again

Advice to Senior ManagementSay what you mean, and mean what you say.
Create a clear vision and strategy - then trust your teams to do their jobs to bring it to life. Stop micro-managing and operating a level down.
Remember that you are not your target consumer, and that you aren't the vast majority of your employees. Get to know them both, intimately and then govern your decisions accordingly.

    General Overview

    Contractor (Former Employee) Northfield, IL

ProsYou are working with some of the best brands in the industry, so resources are less of an issue. In addition, everyone around you is an expert at something, so often you don't have to reinvent the wheel but instead consult someone who has done your project before or has intimate knowledge of it.

ConsYou are never allowed to unplug... You are contacted throughout the day and often have meetings that take up your entire day and are forced to perform actual work on what is supposed to be your time. In addition, managers and peers will often reach out during the evening for work that needs to be performed by the next day. There is a feeling that you are "on call" at all times and because everyone is working so hard and is intelligent, it is hard to justify those who actually get promoted vs. those who don't.

Advice to Senior ManagementHire people so that the people you currently have don't get burnt out.

No idea how it's remained functional

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

    ProsGreat name for your resume

    ConsExtremely hierarchical
People talk down to others and rudeness is apparently permitted
No communication, like people are protective of what they're doing and willing to let others fall
Don't know how anything ever gets done over there

Advice to Senior ManagementFocus on running a business vs. further spoiling tired and entitled senior managers who are just concerned about keeping their jobs and salaries. Very backwards culture which should seriously consider flattening.

    Good company with good people

    Supply Chain Manager (Current Employee)

ProsKraft provides lots of opportunity for career growth and development. There are good people who work hard and are passionate about what they do. Compensation and benefits are competitive.

ConsSystems and processes are antiquated. For a company of it's size, it should be much further along with the use of systems capabilities.

Advice to Senior ManagementTime and money spent to update systems will be well spent.

Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company
