I have been working at Kraft North America

    Pros

The benefits are good. The brands we represent are very well known and the penetration in the household is very high.

    Cons

Even with the benefits like the vehicle allowance, expense card and health programs the base salaries are on the low side.

    Pros

Good benefits, good people to work with, for the most part a god place to work

    Cons

Change managment process was poor, lots of managers no leaders

    Advice to Management

Listen to the employees at the sites, one size does not fit all

    Pros

Great people work with, very helpful and friendly. Company encourages cross-functional experience and rotations of jobs. Decent work life balance. Most people are allowed to work remotely if you need to, but not a norm for people to work from home every day. Early stage of the career, upward movement is easier. Compensation is not bad, PTO combines sick days and vacations days, you can take your PTO for any reason.

    Cons

After the split, the company struggles with growth, a lot of pressure to cut cost. Christmas lunch became only dessert and drinks.

    Advice to Management

Focus on long term growth by Investing in standard production equipments and processes to simplify material specification to achieve scale, lower cost and reduce downtime. Invest in advertisement on new products so that they can grow. Stop chasing short term cost cutting that compromises quality.

    Pros

Good pay for the amount of long hrs and hard work.

    Cons

Old women who like to tattle, make trouble and not do their own work. People worry too much about others and not them selves.

    Advice to Management

Maybe be on the floor more and not let people spend time in the office about things that don't concern them!

    Pros

Good wages for a non union facility and plenty of overtime for full time employees. Benefits are fairly good but expensive.

    Cons

Safety is not as big of a concern as it should be as 42% of the workforce is out on ltd or std. Crews are forced to work 12 hour shifts for 29 days straight (with no cleanup) resulting in many injuries. No sign of lean manufacturing practices despite six sigma "geniuses" everywhere. 61% of product went to "animal feed" (scrap) and nothing done to prevent the loss. Refuse overtime and be fired. Mention "union" and be fired. Nuts running the asylum.

    Advice to Management

Kraft corporate needs to clean house or close the plant. Execute lean manufacturing practices to cut down on injuries, downtime and scrap. Unionize this facility as you have others. Stop discrimination against highly educated employees and stop promoting the inept employees. Remember-Surround yourselves with the best and brightest!

    Pros

Compensation was very good. One of the best Private Fleets to work for. Local management was very good. Very appreciative of the employees.

    Cons

Corporate culture above our regional managers was very unresponsive. Loaded down with acronyms and catch phrases that seem take the place of any real decisions and actions. The only company value at this point seems to be to cut head count.

    Advice to Management

Stop talking about being a company of makers and do or make something. All of these programs are only hindering the process. Upper management needs to either get real and learn about the business and people they manage. Or, shut it down and go home.

    Pros

Great benefits package. Good vacation schedule.

    Cons

Management did not support employees. More emphasis was put on product than ensuring employees were properly trained. Managers did not have an understanding of what employees jobs were and had little knowledge of how employees ccompleted maintenance. Never had a set schedule. Hours changed between shifts because the company could not maintain its workforce.

    Pros

Great pay, overtime if needed, excellent benefits, union plant.

    Cons

some forced overtime, future of the Chicago plant is uncertain at this time. Some plants have been shutting down since takeover of Mondelez International.

    Advice to Management

take more input from hourly employees.
