Pros
As others have said, free donuts/soda/coffee while you work, 50% off discount for everything in the store for you and friends/family while they're with you. Relatively simple/easy work for a food service job and regular raises for people that stay with it for a little while. Talking with people while they visit is nice when business is slow. The management is supportive and there are several little gifts that are given to the staff regularly.
Cons
Friday/Saturday after the hot sign comes on, it can get to insane levels of of people coming through the door and when you're understaffed or the doughnut machine simply isn't making the glazed fast enough, it can seem hopeless to get everyone in and out without getting yelled at by a customer that can't fathom that they have to wait for hot doughnuts for 5 minutes or so.
Advice to Senior Management
Don't get upset when staff ask for needed help (deleting items off orders requires a manager/supervisor), we didn't create the system. They've been very helpful, especially when it gets especially stressful.
The corporate office needs to stop expanding the company so quickly in regions where they aren't sure how it'll go. Instead of opening 10+ shops in a single country/region within a year or so, open one and experiment and then reassess the decision, that way Krispy Kreme won't have to close most of the stores it just opened.
Pros
Great people to work with.
Cons
Ran out of product a lot.
Advice to Senior Management
Treat team members more fairly.
Pros
* Free Doughnuts
* Marketing experience
* Work mostly from home office
Cons
* TERRIBLE Management!
* Consistant mistakes
* Non-Comunication
Pros
I love the product. You can make people very happy. I really love working with people.
Cons
No consistancy in the rules. If you are not related you go nowhere and don't get regular raises. The insurance now is the worst ever. I have been there a long time and keep seeing children become supervisors and fail.
Advice to Senior Management
When you make a rule stand behind it , don't change it for convenience. Give better opportunities to daytime employees. No-one seems to care about certain quality issues.
Pros
The job was challenging yet fun, because of the opportunity to actually interact with the customers while servicing your accounts. You are provided full support of the various departments even when out in the field, say for instance some of your product gets damaged, if you need to replace it or add more product you simply make a phone call and what ever you need is ready when you return to the shop. Unlike most of the other retail sales companies, you DO NOT have to purchase your route or rent your truck to do your job. They have one of the BEST benefit and retirement packages that I have ever seen and it is very easy to utilize those services. Uniforms to include jackets and hats are provided free and work shoes are discounted. If you are a decent salesman or have fair people skills and you can develop a good re-pore with the accounts that you serve, your earning potential can make for a very comfortable and satisfying existence now and when you retire. Was a great place to work and my 401k and stock will serve me well when I finally do retire.
Cons
12 to 14 hour days, a lot of jumping in and out of a truck, and lots of driving unless you don't mind driving.
Advice to Senior Management
Establish more routes to cut back on time spent on the market by route salesmen, advertise and include more specials, improve the policies on returns and damages, and keep the guaranteed salaries.
Pros
pay happy faces ability to take time off
Cons
managments lack of or intrest in building up clients
Advice to Senior Management
we are a francise so my advice would be to our owner replace your manager and watch your stire turn around
Pros
they are good about working with my schedule when it comes to school. i like alot of the people that i work with.
Cons
a lot of favoritism. they prompt people that dont deserve it. people make more money then the people that have been there longer.
Advice to Senior Management
be fair with everyone. dont be two faced with your employees. dont treat people like they are not worth the time to be there
Pros
Free donuts, fun place, great co-workers, stays busy, great vacation benefits, great atmosphere, love to see happy customers, schedule is flexible with what i need. Health benefits offered to full time employees.
Cons
They don't look at the qualities and qualifications of a good employee and offer promotion within the store. Gm needs to be more aware of what the employees do/don't do. Management doesn't get bonuses .
Advice to Senior Management
Work together and perform all duties expected . Just one manager who doesn't pull their weight can disrupt the flow of operation. Put 110% in each day you work.
Pros
They have flexible hours and they also have free doughnuts and soda pop if your clocked in.... who would complain about free doughnuts..
Cons
Most of there employees does not speak english. And there Management are not apart of the team that they are running. If the employees were running behind, the Management staff would not go on the floor to help get caught back up. There management staff is very lazy I guess you could say.
Advice to Senior Management
You need to communicate with your staff as well as help out your team members, not just sit in an office.
Pros
Having a paycheck in this deep recession we're in.
Cons
No career growth, unprofessional director(s)
Advice to Senior Management
Establish an employee system wherein departmental issues can be resolved in a timely manner. Currently, rules are not being inforced and employee morale is suffering as a result. Only a couple departments promote internally, finance isn't one of them.
