Back Stabbing Rude People

Assistant Manager (Former Employee)
Winston-Salem, NC

I worked at Krispy Kreme full-time for more than a year

ProsI started as a manager in training. I traveled to 2 different States. For a 6 months to train to be an assistant manager. It was fun learning different aspects of the job and traveling. The pay was out standing.

ConsKrispy Kreme locations do not train the same. I was trained more on making donuts then actual manager training. Once I became an assistant manager I was sent to University Store in Winston Salem. I had no life the Gm there ruined my career. He set me up to fail when I went to HR I was fired 3 Months later.

Advice to Senior ManagementAssistant manager Position needs More management training for 6 months. If u are wanting to hire a shift supervisor do that instead of placing an assistant manager at a store then treating them like a shift supervisor.

A learning experience

General Manager (Former Employee)
Pittsburgh, PA

I worked at Krispy Kreme full-time for more than 3 years

ProsAt Krispy Kreme, hard work was recognized and rewarded, and leadership opportunities were available to those who had shown desire and the potential for growth. If you're young and just branching leadership, this is a good place to start.

ConsThe senior leadership was often unavailable for advice, and coaching wasn't very robust. Hourly wages were higher than other companies in the industry, but the salary for managers was next to nothing.

Advice to Senior ManagementProtect your brand. Your franchisee's will make or break your overall image and perception of the company. Beware of these groups flooding the market- continue to keep your brand a commodity.

Prosfree donuts, total lack of supervision, we did what we wanted, when we wanted. total abscence of upper managers except when they came for the dog and pony shows

Consunderpaid, under staffed, never enough help, jerk shift managers, rude customers, seriously its donuts people

Advice to Senior Managementcome down from the office and be more involved, get real with your team and pay them, they make the money, not you.

Shuttle Driver (Current Employee)

I have been working at Krispy Kreme full-time for more than 3 years

Prosafter you learn everything it is very simple and easy work. People you work with are sometimes in and out because of turnover but hey its not come to work and do nothing, its a job so some folks get mad because they are told to do something.

Consdon't get paid much. sometimes management has no clue at times. although it isn't the best pay i can say it is a nice place to work, as long as you are able to work together.

Willfully refuses to do the right thing!

Team Member/Supervisor Trainee (Former Employee)
Alexandria, VA

I worked at Krispy Kreme part-time for less than a year

ProsA step up from 1st. minimum wage fast food job. Fair second job.

ConsCorporate and store management treat employees with contempt. They deceive customers and employees as a matter of course. No training and incentives are contrived and not met.
Micro-managed at the corporate level, incompetently managed at store level.

Advice to Senior ManagementPresent the product for what it is, great fun food and stop trying to fool customers and employees. Eliminate either DMs, or GMs. The two positions are at odds concerning efficiency.
