    Pros

Great donuts and fun to work at. Enjoyed all extra perks given out by company when on outings and events.

    Cons

Not enough support when the donut machine goes down and can't produce product for retail sale for busy customer rush.

    Advice to Management

Please train all management in ways of troubleshooting the donut machines so when it breaks down the customers will not be turned away.

    Pros

Free doughnuts, some enjoyable co workers

    Cons

Horrible scheduleding, low pay, nothing is ever changed in the two years I worked here, free doughnuts.

    Advice to Management

Make a set schedule or somewhat set, do no make someone close at 1130pm and come back in at 7am, do no let your employees decide how to run the store, and stay constant on your decisions. Do not decide to do it this way one day and another the next.

It's Groundhog Day, but a rewarding job for those upbeat few who find ways to make it fun.

    Pros

Low barrier to entry- as long as you can pass a drug screen + background check.

Unlimited doughnuts and beverages while 'on the clock.'

The day-to-day work is mind numbingly easy (under ideal conditions).

Employee discounts on food and merchandise.

    Decent health insurance.

    Cons

It's a monotonous grind. Groundhog Day.

Lack of communication between management and employees.

    Sloppy shift handoffs.

Supervisors cut too many corners, and their employees do the same.

Employees are generally unhappy, downtrodden, and complain to anyone who will listen, because management's hands are tied from being able to solve problems at their level. This leads to a "learned helplessness" where employees lose faith in their boss/job/company, which drives down morale and productivity.

    Advice to Management

Ensure consistent communication between employees and management (doesn't have to resemble a formal meeting, just a quick huddle so that everyone is informed and held accountable for the work expected of them. Otherwise your people are in the dark don't feel the need to be proactive.)

Incentivize exceptional work, expertise, and loyalty. Reward employees who go the extra mile and more will go the extra mile.

    Fix faulty equipment.

Emphasize greater accountability on equipment care/maintenance.

If budget allows, look into offering public wifi.

Don't allow your employees (especially retail) to spread negativity, it's contagious.

Mentor your young retail employees to better their people skills.

Recognize improvement; be consistent with discipline; when possible avoid reprimanding employees in front of others, otherwise do so respectfully; lead by example; listen to your people..basic stuff. Just going back to the basics will go a long way.

    Pros

the pay does help to pay bills & rent plus those free doughnuts save buying REAL healthy food or one can give them to a crack head in exchange for a few dollars and you get trained to rush thru customers like sheep at shearing time and let us not forget if you are in retail, you are not working by the super hot, smelly fryers. And the training is great, you learn as you go & you hope someone will have the patience to tell you more than twice how to make the varies drinks. The best bonus is the 10 minute break you get in a 6 hour shift. It takes 5 to get to the break room & 5 to get back now include the bathroom. But the number 1 great thing for working here at Christmas you get a free turkey but in 2014 we were given a 20.00 gift certificate toward a whole ham or turkey. The thought was great but my family eat neither one.
Why not a $20.00 gift certificate toward groceries. How did I forget besides free doughnuts and that is only one dozen, you get to drink free as long as it is not in a container so if you only
drink water it has to be from the tap. And you can grow as long as you are young, speak good
english and rub skin with management. But it is a great company to work for to learn of how
not to treat people and how to run a business but not to make a profit or increase sells. What do they call that, living on a skirt tail.

    Cons

Krispy Kreme is a company that hire the young for they are innocent to abuse, the older for they are happy to be hired, and those who don't speak good english for that is their cheap labor for they are happy for a job and don't understand work rights and laws such as breaks and over usage of labor by making demands of their labor with fear of job lose or hour cuts,
working by the fryers in a room hitting 110 degrees with no moving air and have to inhale the
grease and burnt doughnut products, you get hollered at for you need to use the bathroom after6 hours of work and this is called your break. You can't have nothing to drink for you are on the line thought you are working by the fryers though those up in retail can have a drink, plus you are only to have what is on tap and you only drink bottle water. This company is no
different than any company who wants to hire people cheap for (YOU ARE A DIME A DOZEN),
And management, they only tell you what they told to say, like robots for that is how they were trained, remember they go with the flow of the job for they didn't know how to have a backbone
and increase sells. In other words krispy kreme is a company who hire who is willing to work
for them for they don't care for the stock brokers come first and this company is surviving on the profit of their franchises . The management part of this company don't care how it is done
as long as they get their bonus and the stockbrokers are happy. Krispy Kreme isn't the only company that does this, look at where you work at.

    Advice to Management

supervisors, you take the position only for the money yet you are still working like a slave labor. Management-why do you get defensive when someone make a suggestion for a sale. "That isn't the krispy kreme way." Any thing is their way as long as it has a sign and make a profit. Look at your schedule, don't just give people what they want, try but one can't always have it. Ex: three slow people on a busy day but 3 fast people on a slow day. And when you hire youth
doesn't always give you what you need. Remember when promoting, anyone can be in management when taught the answers but that don't always make them the best worker. And remember, don't brag what you use to be able to do years ago and always keep an open ear for good ideas come forth that way. You keep changing the donut case every time a new flavor comes out. QUIT!!! Leave the old where they sit, take out the cancelled flavor and put in the new. Regular customers get upset for they feel they have to point to a flavor and every time there is a change they have to look for what they want. Remember when running your store, rules are a guide line to help you not the golden rule.

    Pros

Just the free doughnuts, I guess.

    Cons

This is a franchise and not a large factory. They will work you to death. Unrealistic expectations and extremely low pay. Be prepared to have no personal life.

    Advice to Management

Compensate the management team fairly and be realistic with what you're expecting from the business. The markets are different in each location.

    Pros

    Free donuts on the clock.

    Cons

First of all Krispy kreme doesn't care about there employees, they act like do. they will make us sell coupon books And calendars In tell us everyone we sale we get a dollar, yes it helpful but its really helping them at the end of day.Krispy Kreme expects way too much from their employees but do not pay them enough. Also,i hate when Krispy Kreme has special like free donut day Or buy dozen get one free because they weren't the employees so hard when that no extra pay or any benefits. lastly, our district manager is very rude he is very quick to fire somebody just because they made one mistake he wants people to be scared of him for some reason. I worked at four Krispy kreme all of are unorganized.

    Advice to Management

    Pros

Very welcoming staff, the manager was very welcoming and understanding of problems I had, the fellow employees were mostly very helpful and kind, the work wasn't too complicated and the store was quite busy so it wasn't too dull.

    Cons

My store was quite strict with holidays and time off, even far in advance it was difficult to book days off. Sometimes was made to stay quite late after closing without being informed.

    Advice to Management

Ensure that all stores provide warning of staying late in advance as it may be difficult for some staff (especially younger members) to get home or feel safe going home.
