    Pros

Location, friendly environment and overtime availability. Professional training and promotion within a year from Courtesy Clerk.

    Cons

Low manpower due to poor attendance and severe weather conditions. Force to service entire meat and sea food department alone. Unload, packaging, tagging, display, and provide customer service with a smile.

    Advice to Management

Improve employee morale by acknowledging dedicated service when an employee goes above and beyond. Provide more training for advancement and new hires.

I have been working at Kroger part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Good work enviroment. Advancement opportunities if self-driven.

    Cons

Management is a coin-toss. Some are great. Some are not.

    Advice to Management

Get on the same page. Listen to your employees.

I worked at Kroger (More than a year)

    Pros

A good company to work for, no full time really. Drug testing is not very often. Corporate companies stink, but this ones not too bad. I smoked herb every day there.

    Cons

Managers are kind of rude, and some people just don't seem happy. Life can get boring.

    Advice to Management

My advice would be too focus more on your employees and not the some other poop that you think takes priority. if you have a happy employee you have a happy customer.

I worked at Kroger part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

-Great coworkers -Celebrated Holidays in the store -Many opportunities to get more hours outside your schedule -You develop relationships with regular customers

    Cons

-The micromanagement was too much -Store maintenance got out of hand sometimes -Prepare to work hard -Still had to get carts despite bad weather

    Advice to Management

    Stop hounding employees

    Pros

Great management training program, solid benefits, not a boring "desk job"

    Cons

Over-worked and underappreciated by upper level executives. There is an awfully bad disconnect between the corporate and retail levels of this company. Painfully obvious that the company cares more about the stakeholders than its retail associates.

    Advice to Management

You get what you give. The company has a great vision, but needs to invest more in its people.

I have been working at Kroger as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

Flexible with working hours CTP program is a year long training program that teaches you about all areas of the plant. This was an option for when my internship ended.

    Cons

Didn't have much to do for about 3 weeks, but this is relatively common for any internship. Plant operators and mechanics can be racist/sexist. This is a trend at most manufacturing facilities.

    Advice to Management

Try to have a better onboarding plan for the interns. We don't really like sitting around for two weeks even when we ask if there is anything we can do.

  9. It's OK. But I've never worked there before just took a look around. And in only 15.

I have been working at Kroger part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Kroger has more people shopping there. Which probably means we could get paid more.

    Cons

I don't like when people touch all over the food products and don't attempt to take it.

  10. Retail pharmacy

I have been working at Kroger part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Slightly better hours than the other part time positions offered at Kroger

    Cons

It's retail, so dealing with the public. Also, store management is more concerned with OSATs and secret shopper results than pharmacy goals.

    Advice to Management

Invest in a greeter so your hourly workers can focus on getting their job done.

    Pros

Easy work Good environment Discounts on Kroger products Work with school schedule

    Cons

Lazy coworkers make your job harder Favoritism from supervisors Customers are so rude

    Advice to Management

Keep a better eye on how the front end is run and stores should be kept cleaner than they are
