    Pros

The company offers excellent health benefits, you are rewarded and recognized when you have an outstanding performance.

    Cons

Long story short - the health benefits are great because you likely WILL get injured at work. There is heavy lifting involved, daily and constant. That's why I think that's sugarcoating, people are happy about their benefits but ask around and see how many people have problems/surgery with their backs, knees, hips, neck strains, you name it. The stores are usually small and without employee common area (although the newer stores are different, there are still 400 stores out there that do not provide that). Breaks in this company are a freaking joke. They "value" so much their employees, but God forbid if you bite your sandwich and a customer walks in the store, you either spit it or chew twice only on your way to the register. Good luck trying to heat up your food, you can never eat it anyways. That's just ridiculous. I had no training, was thrown to open a store by myself after 1 week and was reprehended for not having the same performance than a professional that was in that store for 8 years.

    Advice to Management

Having nice vision and mission statements and an engaged family that looks committed to their promise is just half way there. If you value your employees, have them take an uninterrupted 10, 15 minute break. It's a break where they can eat and compose themselves. There are tools and technology out there for machines to carry the weight for us - valuing an employee is not just saying that out loud, but making sure a 18, 25, or even 55 year old doesn't have to carry 20+ bags of ice twice a week.

    Pros

    Very flexible with availability
Can request time off 90 days in advance
Monthly store meetings (to keep everybody on the same page)
Holiday sign up (open everyday of the year but you can sign up for the shifts on the holidays you'd prefer to work)
    $1.50 more for premium hours/overnights

    Pros

KT has high expectations of its co-workers...and pays for the best!
Very competitive starting wages (recent across the board $1/hr raise for hourly co-workers. Starting wage at my store is now $10.70/hr)
    Access to insurance benefits
    401k after one year
Company share 40% of its pre-tax profits with EVERY co-worker

    40% Pretax profit sharing

    Cons

If you don't want to work for your paycheck, this is not the company for you.

    Pros

Great training and hiring process. Above average co-workers and an environment that allows you to be your best and encourages growth.

    Cons

Some of the same good old boy politics that occurs in most businesses.

    Advice to Management

Be truthful with co-workers who have been passed up for promotion on why, give them guidance on what to work on.

    Pros

I enjoy the team atmosphere, they really do care about their coworkers. Pay is not bad for what you do. There is a lot of room to move up in the company.

    Cons

The work can get repetitive and if you work with unhappy people it creates an unhappy environment.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your coworkers when they do their annual reviews on management.

    Pros

Zietlow family is awesome. Stable job, always going to be around. Can move up in company without schooling but will take a few years.

    Cons

Horrible work life balance. Expect a lot out of employees. Profit share.

    Pros

The benefits are great. They are a small family company and you can feel it. It feels like they really care.

    Cons

It is a retail job so you deal with a ton of crappy customers. Most days everything you have to say makes you feel like a robot.

    Advice to Management

I think less emphasis should be put on the possibility of secret shops. It is constantly hanging over your head.
