I have been working at Kwik Trip part-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Good money (if you get hours)
Sometimes can get good people to work with.
Cant get bored theres much to do.
Good benefits if your able to get them
Usually can get the schedule you'll want

    Cons

    Leaders usually constantly complain
    Poor training.
Some shady manager business can happen.
Can get stuck at register for days
If your not a shift leader your pretty much a nobody.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Change your sick call in policy. Your leaders will guilt trip sick people into coming in and then the sick people get everyone else sick, so instead of struggling for a couple days maybe your struggling for about a month because that ONE person gets the whole staff sick. Pay more attention to store functionality than just sales. Your sales greatly depends on it.

    Pros

    -Owners are superb people
    -Great pay
    -Excellent benefits
    -Very people oriented

    Cons

Can get boring. Not as fast paced as other retail jobs. It's more often good than bad, but the job can get boring. There is always something to do, but it might be mindless work.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Keep it up

    I worked at Kwik Trip

    Pros

The scheduling was very flexible with my college courses. When arriving at work, you had very specific guidelines for what was expected of you - there was no standing around wondering what to do.

    Cons

The customers could be exceptionally needy and ask you to do things like change a tire or add oil to their cars. Other than that, the work could get a little repetitive, but overall not bad.

    I worked at Kwik Trip

    Pros

The company was trying to keep there employees healthy . Where able to have a free friut during your shift.

    Cons

Didn't receive help when I asked
    A lot of clicky employees
Both the kitchen and cashiers had only one sink area to use for cleaning ..

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

General managers should work all shifts
    Shouldn't show favoritism
Shouldn't be aloud to stay in a store more then three years.

    Pros

Profit sharing! Management! Benefits! Pride in the successful company ! Many happy guests and fun co workers and leaders to work with.

I have been working at Kwik Trip part-time (less than a year)

    Pros

Starting wage is better than other retail companies; 9.00/hr vs 7.85/hr locally. General atmosphere is professional and positive. Year-end bonus based on hours worked and overall gross company profit, 40%. Shifts are consistent (i.e, 1st shift works ~5am - 3pm, 2nd shift works ~2pm - 12am, and 3rd shift works ~10pm - 6am with reasonable variation vs. scheduling at all hours). Opportunities for advancement are available without a degree necessary. Fountain soft drinks and coffee are free on the clock and the company pays half of uniform costs.

    Cons

Shifts can be long -- 10 hours. Only two ten minute breaks at a maximum on aforementioned shift, no lunches allowed. Hours vary wildly each week for part timers; during the winter months, employees can expect 30hrs one week and half that the next, or less. Staffing can be extremely minimal on supposedly "slow" days, where only a few people are expected to maintain the store with no oversight and complete a list of duties while still serving customers.

Maximum raise amount isn't great (0.25/hr on a perfect yearly review). Meager insurance benefits; part timers are not allowed coverage that meets Affordable Care Act "essential" standards. No sick pay for part timers and just three days of vacation that do not roll over. Employees can only request time off 90 days in advance and no further.

Company culture has a bizarre, overly enthusiastic opinion of the owning family and CEO.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be more liberal about staffing the stores on busy days, otherwise standards tend to slip as co-workers attempt to keep up with tasks and serve customers with limited manpower. Revise your training program -- it's outdated, boring, and takes too long (and doesn't include anything about the lottery, which generates considerable sales in Wisconsin and can be confusing). Give employees time to eat lunch!

I have been working at Kwik Trip full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

People I worked with and some customers, Christmas bonuses. Not much of a balance considering you might work 10 day in a row . It is retail you work nights, weekends, holidays, day shift, swing shift, and over nights.

    Cons

Not every store is consist, they like to promote people off of who will drink more of the "Kool-Aid". Crabby customers and some store have lack of management. Upper management like district leaders are a joke!!! Some can't even spell there own name right!!!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Not over work the people that are good, hold every to the same standards. Just because I know how to do everything I shouldn't be required to do almost every position on my shift with out the proper staffing
