    Pros

Profit sharing at end of the year and the 401k that is nice to have

    Cons

Over work certain employees while others are just there. High stress which doesn't need to happen. Upper management way out of touch with staff. Too many favorites played which factors into promotions and merit increases. Way way to much talking up staff when it comes to promotion to keep people around a bit longer

    Advice to Management

Have your DL and Zl's come out and see what actually happens on the front end of the company. It seems like most of the store upper management are out of touch with what really happens and are only concerned with numbers. Is it worth it to burn out good coworkers just so you can get a bonus at the end of the period.

    Pros

Working with the guests and I had great coworkers. I used it as a college job but there is potential for working up in the company with little or no post high school education

    Cons

They are very focused on selling food. Their is high gross margin on food so I understand but where I worked we had many regulars and were surrounded by fast food chains that offered better food so we struggled selling food which unfairly effected our payroll.

    Advice to Management

It felt like unless you knew someone in the corporated office your chances of moving up were limited.

    Pros

they start with a little better pay than other retail or food service jobs. the bonuses are widely talked about.

    Cons

there are no lunches, even on an 8 hour shift. they can schedule you for 7 days in a row with no time off, due to their two week rotating schedule. the work is much harder than most retail or food service, and the expectations are very high for sub poverty pay. no employee discount, sub standard health insurance. they are one of the companies who cut their employees hours so they wouldn't have to pay for health insurance. the pay is based on time there, not on effort or performance. lots of petty politics.

    Advice to Management

management doesn't have much to say. the company president and his family make all of the decisions. but i would tell the president that all of the talk about ethics, etc., doesn't cut it much with the average employee until he pays a decent wage.

  6. Great company, Retail management gets away with too much.

    Pros

Family owned, you're not a number, great bonuses for all employees.

    Cons

ALOT OF DRAMA! Management will pick favorites, large income gap between management and employees.

    Advice to Management

Watch your retail leaders a bit better. I could list several occurances in which I watched a member of the management stray from the core values. I would say that is your biggest enemy at this point, you have built a great company with a spotless reputation. It would be a shame to watch people continue to drag it through the mud.

    Pros

Good co-workers, decent pay for a gas station

    Cons

Management takes itself way too seriously. At the end of the day, it's still a gas station.

    Pros

Good employee bonuses, plenty of staff for good coverage, excellent full and part time benefits.

    Cons

Had one awful manager out of several great managers. There was no system in place to fix this. He was later fired though, I just didn't make it through that time

    Pros

For the pros for Kwik Trip, I would have to remain neutral

    Cons

It is definitely not a steady schedule environment. Plus they do not watch what some of their DL's and Store Leads do behind their backs.

    Advice to Management

This is a very demanding job for your shift leads. We all know you make enough to start paying your employees that much more...especially with the massive growth of this company.
