    Pros

There people you work with quickily become Friends and Family. The atmosphere is more laxed than corporate, so it allows you to do your best without being stressed.

    Cons

Quite often you work with people who are not qualified, and have to cover their short comings. Management seems to be unwilling to have employees follow rules or procedures.

    Advice to Management

It's great place..celebrate it, but also make people follow the procedures, which is hard in a place that is dedicated to creativity and going outside the box...but sometime procedures are put in place for a reason. More trainig should be available for those that want it, and mandatory for those that think they don't need it

I have been working at López Negrete full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Good work really does get rewarded with raises and promotions Great office environment, and very friendly people all around you People really try to be innovative and different, instead of just faking it Some fun, unexpected stuff throughout the year Company has improved and is more creative and open than ever

    Cons

Reviews and raises are too slow, they can take 3 months after your anniversary but it's better than other places I worked A lot of nice talk to employees about caring, but the policies for flex time, time off and no summer hours or holiday week mean it's just talk Some senior managers are bullies, and when people are crushed by intellectual snobs, they usually don't come back from it and you lose them Control freaks don't let you do things your way so processes choke good work and initiative Not really up to date with things like expense reports, it takes forever to get paid and 1 problem means they hold it forever

    Advice to Management

Even though you think you're very different (which you're not) you can still learn from other agencies that don't have a controlling atmosphere. Work on the basics, time off, reviews, freedom to make decisions about how people do their jobs, and getting expenses paid. Do that, and you won't have haters reviewing you so negatively or so often. The conflicting messages between the C suites (CEO and Administration) are the biggest problem of all. You can say you love your people, but until you act like you do, it's just a wish.

I worked at López Negrete (More than a year)

    Pros

There are no pros other than those they want you to believe they have: they say this is a "Familia-oriented" business, that this is a financially strong business… It's all lies. Don't believe a word they say and make a move for your career's sake: STAY AWAY!

    Cons

They approach employees with a lot of empty promises: promotions in just a few weeks, a good business growth plan, while they end up assigning people with a lot of prospective work that never sees the light. Their upper management team is indifferent and self-centered, offering no real mentorship and setting up no goals to measure performance against. Awful practice! They are now losing their biggest client to date (almost half of their annual revenue) and everyone in this business knows it! This has conducted massive layoffs since early 2015, kicking off long-time employees with no previous notice, all in one hour or two. Worst thing is this policy will continue through 2015 until they are completely stripped away of this client. They fill employees with so many empty hopes it looks like plain propaganda: "Familia" is not something you just blurt out, is something you make happen. And there's no "familia" in a ruthless mom-and-pop shop that behaves like the most ruthless corporation.

    Advice to Management

Not much you can do at this point. You're heading downhill and the likes of other outdated proud Hispanic agencies (Bromley, Globalhue), your days are soon to be over. So as you keep shrinking, just treat your employees with respect for their careers and lives, act as a responsible corporation and stop giving away empty promises to good professionals that somehow, one day, will end up leaving.

    Pros

I have put a lot of thought into this review because I know how stressful it can be for a job seeker to invest your time into something without enough credibility. Pros? I don't have much to say here...in my experience, yes, you will likely make friends which is always a good thing.

    Cons

And so my honest review begins... During my time here I experienced below par leadership and training. I was thrown into my duties without any qualified leadership or someone with enough experience to solve any issues. You will have to fend for yourself here. Besides the fact that the accounts were suffering tremendously, all departments, mine in particular, experience a very minimal work load. Beware of coming here and expecting to take on exciting projects and responsibility - the likelihood is low, due to the state of the agency and your leadership will likely not be willing to fight for you or your work. Another issue here is the company morale. Most people who work here are very young and unqualified. There are very inexperienced people in high positions. It's very obvious that this is exactly where all problems begin. I noticed immediately the lack of professionalism here. People like to drink after work every day of the week, gossip, and bring you down to make themselves look good. It's unfathomable how no one has your back or will support you here. Team work is nonexistent unless you get REALLY lucky. I have also never experienced so much belittlement or cattiness in a work setting.

    Advice to Management

Hire people with professional experience and who are good leaders and teachers. Without good leadership your company will not succeed. Don't lead with fear and invest in your people.

I have been working at López Negrete full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

You can use this place as a stepping stone to move on to bigger and better things.

    Cons

Where to begin? The hiring process should have raised a red flag. I interviewed one day and was offered the position the same day. The offer letter came the next day with only having interviewed with one person. This is how they hire employees, no background screening, they don't bother to see if you are qualified for the job. Thus, you end up working with people that are underqualified for their positions. No training and poor management: Good management understands that employees do not show up on the first day and hit the ground running. But sadly, at Lopez Negrete management has the attitude that training is a throw-away item. The poor management here sees training as lost productivity. You will have to figure things out on your own from day one. You will lots of responsibility and challenges with very little direction. Everything is up to you to decide how to solve. Employees are not listened to. The owner micromanages everything. Once you start getting freedom on something, he finds a way to manage that as well, nothing gets by without his approval. Not the best way to manage an organization which is why this place is losing clients left and right. He doesn't trust a single employee to do anything. There is no freedom at this job, just when you start to feel a grasp of the workload like I did after 6 months, you will be loaded on with more tasks. There is no, oh you are busy, so these are the priorities and do the rest when you have time, no. It's you have to finish all of these tasks this week, and it should only take you a day. Despite all the company "activities," (mostly drinking activities, this is how they reward you) nothing makes up for the poor quality of work, micromanaging, low-pay, boring projects, constant criticism and repeated high turnover from people. When a person leaves Lopez Negrete, for whatever reason, they are invariably ridiculed and put down in an obviously strategic manner. Management encourages the bad mouthing of the individual that has decided to leave. Human Resources only encourages this behavior. You think you are confiding in HR when you report an issue or a problem but HR will actually go and gossip to your supervisor about everything you have said, creating an uncomfortable situation for you where you are harassed and criticized by management and co-workers because you confided in HR. Gossip and back stabbing is a norm here. While most co-workers were awesome, most employees won’t hesitate to throw you under the bus to make themselves look good. Supervisors are notorious for doing this here. Employees are encouraged to snitch on each other. Inexperienced employees make a big deal of nothing in order to impress upper management and are rewarded for it. You are coerced to do overtime because timelines for projects are unrealistically short. Working 12 to 15 hour days is standard. Work life balance is non-existent. You will not gain anything from working here.

    Advice to Management

This place is beyond repair. No amount of advice can help.

Experience on top brands gives you great experience; they have very strong planning and research capabilities; generally speaking, they hire good people.

    Cons

The culture is certainly not for everyone; they have a tough time retaining the good people they hire; you can expect lot's of late hours.

    Pros

Very few things I can think as pros. If you decide you want to work here all I have to say is: Welcome to the age of dinosaurs!

    Cons

-Elitist environment. If you're a "party buddy" and you have the temperament of a Medieval serf, thiis is the place for you. -Creativity is a big ZERO. The ideas are old-fashioned and don't have any connection to the current industry standards. -Most of the people in management, leadership and even some of the workers are very unfamiliar with the industry they work in. -Give your opinion? Sure: you will be fired. -And don't dare criticize any of the current "favorites" because you will be fired. -Fear is a constant the minute you walk in. Eccentricity is looked down upon even though this IS a characteristic of people in advertising. -The place runs more like a bank or an insurance company. -A sense of compassion and care for the employees is non-existent even though they keep saying that we are "familia". It's all a lie. -Money and time sheets is all they care about. -Conflicts of interest are rampant and the sad part is that they get away with it. -Parties, Cinco de Mayo tacos, birthday cakes, etc., don't make up for long hours and a fear driven environment. -The furniture is horrendous and the place looks like a haggard 1940's museum piece. It also smells like it!

    Advice to Management
