Worst Unprofessional and Unethical I have ever worked for

Program Manager (Former Employee)
Muskegon, MI

I worked at L-3 Communications full-time for more than 5 years

ProsDecent Pay, Benefits & work Life Balance

ConsThe new president of the Muskegon, MI L-3 CPS division that took over in 2012 has no clue how to run a company and is far worse than the prior president. The current president was put there by L-3 corporate and does not want to be in that role. He has a rental car, rental house and fly's back & forth every week back to Texas. As a result, there is no leadership and each of his VP's pursue their own personal agenda and not unified company goals. He allows his VP's to run wild and in doing so has created a culture where VP's preach ethics and professionalism but do not practice it. They looks to blame others for failure and take credit for others successes.

Great possibilites

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

I have been working at L-3 Communications

Prosso much potential, the market is there. The niche could be controlled by L-3, but that need to grasp hold just doesn't break through

Conscould be so much better if there was a need to be better. It seems as though the company has settled where it is.

Advice to Senior Managementlisten, provide a clear vision to the lowest level employee.

Very nice people with a desire to make innovative products.

Engineer (Current Employee)
Orlando, FL

I have been working at L-3 Communications full-time for more than 8 years

ProsFlexible hours and a push towards furthering education. Great engineers with a willingness to teach the younger guy. Skilled technicians and very smart senior engineers

ConsSenior Management totally unqualified to run a successful company. They do not listen to engineering. Keep your nose straight and don't go against management ever and you'll be ok.

Advice to Senior ManagementThink about the future and investing in making products better instead of your quarterly numbers and letting your competitors catch up.

L3 doesn't appreciate its most qualified employees.

Production (Former Employee)
Londonderry, NH

I worked at L-3 Communications full-time for more than 10 years

ProsI met a lot of nice people.

ConsWithout a doubt, L-3 in Londonderry, NH, favors minorities. Many of their employees are not able to read, write or understand English...even though the company fulfills government contracts. When L3 has a lay off, their minority workers are seldom, if ever chosen.

They also hire a lot of temps, then push out experienced employees who have been there for years. There is no job security at all.

Management is very disorganized and in many cases, unprofessional.

Pay for production workers is below the norm.

Advice to Senior ManagementStop playing favorites.
