I have been working at L&T Infotech full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

No noticeable pros observed so far.

    Cons

    - Poor project pipeline with Business Development team is formed in last 2 yrs. (company was formed in 1997.)
    - L&T Core's non-performers are sitting at top positions with no positive o/p.
    - Pathetic HR connect, HR people not aware of company policies, have to chase them for simple stuff.
    - Lack of good resources to drive big engagements.(since good people don't stick to this org.)

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Senior Management with old age methodology which have succeeded for L&T Core operations but not able to show any traction for Info-tech division. Please pump fresh IT leaders with dynamic thought process if L&T Info-tech needs to survive in future.

I worked at L&T Infotech full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

For laterals if you have good negotiation skills you can get a good hike.
You can stay here for a year or so and then plan for another move.
Some projects have good onsite opprtunities but onsite salaries are not good in comparison with the other IT majors.

    Cons

    Here goes the list-
Apppraisal is a farce..Salary hike is not on your performance.
Salary at on-shore is not align to the industry standards.People avoid going to some places like South Africa because you actually not save anything there if you take your family along.
Management is spine less and lick clients boots and then expect same from you.
Some projects like Citi are virtual black hole. You will not get released from such accounts. Only way out is resignation.
Salary hike is a joke. Some people even dont get any hike at all.
Some business units act like body shops who will send you to another units and then the whole blame game starts. Other units manager will not take any interest in your aspirations and growth.
Lot of people are in projects for 3-4 years and all they do is politics.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Management need a quick revamp.
Untill and unless same guys continue at top nothing will happen.Lot of politics happen at manager level and only people who are close to him gets the cake.
Many good resources are leaving because of such managers.
