I worked at L&T Infotech full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

They pay a decent market rate, based on your skills and experience. They'll hold on to you for a generous two and half months between contracts.

    Cons

If you don't speak Hindi, you're going to be the Fifth Wheel everywhere. If you are a White Male born in the USA, you'll have a wonderful experience learning what it feels like to be a Minority.

HR department couldn't find their hindquarters with both hands, and they are rude on the telephone.

They've bought into all the "Touchy-Feely" Management Guru stuff, complete with meaningless Motivational posters and bi-annual "measurements" of the unmeasurable. Your inbox will be overflowing with the latest feel-good awards won by some faraway group of employees you've never heard of. Advice from the trenches is to set up Inbox Rules that delete all of it unread.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Speaking English isn't enough. Teach your people a few little American cultural things. E.g., don't stare at people, it makes them uncomfortable. Answer the phone with a smile.

I have been working at L&T Infotech full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

1.Learning opportunities are good technically on a entry level but to gain diverse experience (implementation/consulting) the opportunities are not good. 2. Work culture is quite relaxed (both good and bad)

    Cons

1.Centralized leadership. 2. Numerous levels of management without much difference in roles. 3.entry level/middle level management does not have much powers. 4. Lack of vision and push for business development by senior management. 5. HR/Admin etc tend to be disconnect from empoyee needs. 6.Strong location/regional bias in some departments

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Need to carve out own identity different to that of parent organization, Need to hold managers accountable for decisions affecting projects, HR policies can be bit more flexible/based on reality.
