  1. Personal Trainer

I worked at LA Fitness (UK)

    Pros

Free membership. You create your own schedule and very flexible.

    Cons

Some of the downsides working for LA Fitness as a personal trainer are: no benefits, poor management, and low commission rates. Depending on management, there is no formal training once you are hired. There is no guideline in conducting assessments and creating training programs. You have to be willing to learn as you go. You only get paid when clients show up but can charge them for a no show. Unfortunately, this is where it gets controversial and in many cases results in disputes and arguments.

    Advice to Management

Management needs to be formally trained prior to entering position. Needs to be certified or experience in personal training.

    Pros

    Set schedule, free gym membership.

    Cons

Constant pressure to clear up EFTs and getting continually cussed out. No mid day hours ever due to OMs working at this time.

    Advice to Management

Pay attention to current employees and promote from within before you bring in people off the street that have no idea about the company.

    Pros

    Free membership and clean facility.

    Cons

Management treats its employees with little (if any) respect. Working at the front desk, I listened to complaint after complaint from customers regarding sales and training staff, always wishing there was something I could do. But no, must follow the strict corporate regulations as to what can/cannot be said... basically not allowed to help anyone.

    Advice to Management

    Good luck
