Advice to Senior Management
NIL
Pros
They were very accepting and understanding of a fresh graduate.
Cons
The business unit was going through reductions and layoffs as I was hired.
Advice to Senior Management
Top management was great. She had a great understanding of what each team member was contributing and how the business needed to change to keep pace with the market. Middle management was embedded in their old way of thinking and doing business.
Pros
Less than 10 % of employees are overworked (i.e more than 8 hrs/day to accomplish daily tasks). Customer service is the one area where employees put in long hours (>8) per day to accomplish their daily tasks. This is very little travel for employees unless they are part of the next SAP implentation or part of senior management.
Cons
Wage freezes for 2009 and personnel reductions continuing since 2008. Sales are down and planned production outages are scheduled to compensate during the economic downturn. More and more responsibilites are being moved to the German parent which further reduces security oan moral of US based employees.
Advice to Senior Management
none
Pros
The work/life balance is the best reason.
Cons
Poorly structured organization with redundancy and arbitrary job positions.
Advice to Senior Management
Always run the company as though we were in tough economic times.
