No Communication, No business plan in place. CEO disconnected with the rest of the management. MD's do not have power

ProsIndependent work. You can have you own game plan.
MD's are not as competent as the Competitor's MD's, hence there is upside opportunity.
    Talented people to work with.

    ConsNo management structure.
CEO and the CEO team does not communicate enough to the rest of the firm. Seems like the CEO is not honest enough to the employees.
MD's are not happy with the management structure.
Future of the firm is not stable.
MD and employee morale is below average

    Advice to Senior ManagementCommunicate honestly.
Exec management structure must change and MD's should get more decision making powers.
Investments should move from expert investment to the legacy SMART.
CEO, exec team and MD's get an "F" grade

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend

Bad management, poor pay, awful business plan

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)
    New York, NY

ProsCo-workers were great, location made for an easy commute

ConsManagement thought the best way to handle a downturn in business was to throw money at every problem. They hired people at exorbitant salaries expecting business to magically follow, and inevitably after 6 months, those same people would leave for a better company after having spent that time wasting everyone's time and money. After they merged with SMART the problem just got worse. Management was petty and disorganized, the corporate office was completely unreachable (though that may have been because they knew we were all going down in flames anyway).

    Advice to Senior ManagementToo late.

ProsSupportive midlevel management, well known experts, understanding of work life balance, some opportunities to collaborate with peers across the company, very interesting work

ConsPay was not that competitive, company seemed to be drifting strategically, outdated work policies and infrastructure, teamwork was a little lacking

Advice to Senior ManagementDo something to improve teamwork and create more opportunities for career growth. Stop laying people off. Be a little more modern.
