Pros
Fantastic colleagues, very collegial and helpful. Academic work environment and good access to senior economists. Ability to specialize within an industry/function or get exposure to a variety of industries/functions.
Cons
Very poor and incompetent senior management. Poor communication to employees. Benefits/salary average with industry, so nothing special. Too many mid-level employees, so not much opportunity for professional growth after your initial learning curve. Monotonous/stagnating work after initial year or two. And of course, LECG has gone bankrupt and so doesn't exist any longer.
Advice to Senior Management
Improve communication about important events at firm. Stop freezing pay and vacation accumulation. Reduce mid-level employees so everyone has an opportunity to grow professionally. Don't bankrupt your next firm!
Pros
Learn economic analysis, modeling, technical skills, comfort with data tasks.
Cons
Long hours
Challenging personalities
Management unmotivated to nurture talent
Advice to Senior Management
Learn better management, have specific goals with junior employees.
Pros
work/life balance, fairly compensated, respect towards employees, professionalism
Cons
Uncertainty of future of the company
Pros

Cons
The company essentially went bankrupt
Advice to Senior Management
Don't try to expand too fast.
Pros

Cons
Poor visibility into the practices direction

Poor direction from the NY Director
Advice to Senior Management
Need to structure the E-Discovery practice just like the other practices to avoid P&L issues
Pros
Location ~ only a few miles from my home ~ That was the only pro I can think of right now. It's sad to say, I'm glad to have gotten laid off and I'm one of the lucky ones that got a job right away.
Cons
One of the most unfriendly people I have ever worked with. SS Departments were so unkind and made you feel you couldn't ask them for any help without an attitude. Sad to see so many mean spirited people in one building.
Advice to Senior Management
They should remember that the people who were not management are just as good as they are...they depended on us to get the work done. They had to start at the bottom before becoming managment.
Pros
Working with great people and staff
Cons
Poor executive management; had head in the sand
Pros

Cons
