LG/MarketStar was a great company to work for

Product Specialist (Former Employee) Indianapolis, IN

Prosflexible schedule, great pay, minimum supervision, great feedback. If you work hard you're rewarded well via bonuses.

ConsPushback from managers and reps of other companies, lots of driving and wear and tear on your personal vehicle.

Advice to Senior ManagementContinue to communicate well with territory reps and give the great feedback that is already being given.

All the pieces are in place to be terrific, but culture based on "punishment" will keep them from being on top

Director of Marketing (Current Employee) Seattle, WA

ProsGood People work here and most mean well. Excellent benefits package.

ConsLG management is forever trying to figure out ways not to pay bonuses.

Advice to Senior ManagementJust be honest with your local region employees and stop pretending that you genuinely care about their careers or their welfare. It's obviously lip service and we're not as dumb as you think we are. By withholding bonuses you are changing our compensation after the fact and are encouraging us to use LG to gain experience we can use elsewhere.

In order to succeed or grow with the company, you have to be able to wear several hats.

Product Manager (Current Employee) San Diego, CA

ProsThe team of people I worked with were great, making going to work each day fun and exciting. I was able to learn many new skills, become an expert in many areas that I am able to use throughout my career.

ConsThe biggest obstacle (s) are culture based if you do not speak the Korean language. Communication is key in our line of work, so you are at a disadvantage if you do not speak the language regardless of how experience or good you are at doing your job.

Advice to Senior ManagementIt is important to relay clear direction for the team so that everyone can focus on the same end goal. Communicating this at an early stage can help build a solid foundation with the team.

Such a chaos and lack of professionalism and respect

Logistics Specialist (Current Employee) Englewood Cliffs, NJ

ProsUnfortunately separated from this company before know any Pros.

ConsThe multi-national company does global business however they doesn't have appropriate mind and system.

Work environment ; Lack of respect , better to say insulting each others , full of gossip and mischief, Unfair treatment and evaluation

Professionalism ; Lack of process and logic,
Miscommunication and Disconnection between management and staff, subsidiaries and HQ, and Koreans and non-Korean employees

    Management;
    Unbalanced allocation of resource
    No leadership

I DO agree on the someone else's earlier comment 'wrong people in wrong jobs' at this page

Their process was such a chaos in my entire experience with this company
Hopefully would be better in the future.

Advice to Senior ManagementDo study on your industry and benchmark others . Don't fear new idea , don't get threaten by new system and different perception. Don't compete internally and compete with your real rival out of the same organization.

If you are not Korean, advancement is limited

Associate Marketing Manager (Former Employee) San Diego, CA

    ProsCool industry to work for
Company discounts across all LG products
Great location in sunny San Diego

ConsHard to maintain morale when the company is always 2 steps behind the competition. Especially when they had the research supporting innovative launches.

Advice to Senior ManagementStop resting on past successes and get ahead of the curve.

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend
