    Customer service is a joke

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

ProsPto and benefits. That's about it.

ConsPromote people based on how long they've been there despite the fact that those people are not qualified in anyway for that position.

Advice to Senior ManagementCare more about people and leas about politics. Also, discussing politics and religion at work is frowned upon. Stop encouraging it.

ProsGreat work environment. Very flexible with school schedule

ConsHave not learned any real engineering work. Most Co-Ops get stuck doing database work.

Advice to Senior ManagementTrain the Co-Ops to be Engineers, not data entry personnel.

    Excellent place to work!

Anonymous Employee (Former Employee) Louisville, KY

ProsThe benefits are the best you will find within the surrounding area. The management wants to make sure their employees are well taken care of in that area.

ConsThe company does advance the employees as much as they can. People don't leave the company so there is really no where for some people to advance to. Sometimes if a person only has so much education or experience, they can be stuck in a position for a very long time. There is no growth chance for the person in that way.

Advice to Senior ManagementListen more to the lower level employees, customer reps, admins, secretaries

    It has been very fulfilling.

Plant Manager (Current Employee) Louisville, KY

ProsI think the best reason to work at Louisville Gas & Electric Company is the benefits and the security of the industry.

ConsThe worse part of working at Louisville Gas & Electric Company is the on-call that is required everyday of the year.

Advice to Senior ManagementI think the management is doing a very good job of leading Louisville Gas & Electric Comapny and Kentucky Utilities.

Not a bad place to work

Financial Analyst (Current Employee) Chicago, IL

ProsSafe during economic downturn, well capitalized and committed to renewables business

Conspoor management skills in certain areas, little established advancement opportunity initiatives

Advice to Senior Managementfocus more on managment skills and styles when hiring people and less on technical pieces. Management is about experience, but it also is management of PEOPLE. Some people are smart and experienced but cannot manage people. Pay more attention to this.

Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend
