    I worked at LKQ full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Fairly easy work except in the winter as that is their busiest time of year. Usually plenty of overtime paid only at time and a half.

    Cons

    Lazy employees, sometimes dangerous and/or unsafe work conditions, terrible warehouse organization and computer systems at some locations, and little to no chance for advancement.

    Advice to Management

    Organize certain warehouses better and come up with a new and improved computer system. Also, double time would be nice for the mandatory overtime that every employee is subjected to.

    Pros

    Nice coworkers, the benefits aren't the best but at least you have them.

    Cons

    Low pay, low morale, racial undertones in conversations between HR and other "higher ups". Benefits department have no clue as to the laws. Payroll department always has in issue, Accounting department unstable. The folks in Chicago have no Idea how lucky they are not to be a part of the daily crap in Nashville.

    Advice to Management

    Pay attention to your employees. Bigger is not always best.

    Bigger the company the worse the benefits, the less you feel valued.

    I worked at LKQ full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    None. The only good thing about this company was some of the other lower level staff. Who also hate their job.

    Cons

    Turnover is extremely high within the company due to low pay and horrible management. Since turnover is high no one ever knows what they are doing and the staff that is there gets more and more piled on them. Hard work and long hours are not recognized. When you leave for a waaaay better opportunity HR will treat you like crap and will suck every penny out of your last pay check. Benefits will be canceled the day you quit instead of at the end of the month (or even pay period) like any decent company. But you will owe the full amount for your premium even if you only work 2 days in your last pay period. I've never worked for a company that has valued employees so little. I heard it said many times that LKQ would rather have low paid entry level employees instead of retaining long term employees that have to be paid more. The whole atmosphere of the company is extremely negative.

    Advice to Management

    Value employees more and a little recognition would not hurt either. There is a reason turnover is so high within the entire company.

    regular shifts mon-fri and every other saturday or sunday, nice management, friendly workplace

    Cons

    starting pay isnt great and raises are few and far between, must hit certain goals, expect alot with little compensation in return

    Advice to Management

    Actual raises when you give performance reviews, you cant expect people to want to stay in a job when their pay cant go anywhere

    Pros

    sitting down all day with out any breaks, expect to eat lunch at your desk, expect no leadership or management expertise

    Cons

    Worked for LKQ several years as an inside sales coordinator and even with 10+ years of experience the favoritism was always to sales reps who kiss the bosses rear end. Other ways expect to have tier 5 customer base. When I departed the job to go to a smaller company to better myself and my health, I was retaliated with a non-compete agreement that you are force to sign when begin working there. they make you sign a paper with out compensation of any kind, you cannot work for 12 months doing similar job unless its 75 miles out their store location. I could go on and on and on but if you are a car person with lots of experience on the field of auto recyclers DO NOT WORK AT LKQ
