    Pros

Employees try their best to make due with substandard management.

    Cons

Constantly under pressure to perform perfectly without being given what it takes to do the job correctly. Managers succeed and thrive by being sneaky and playing politics. This job is more about being able to use your voice to talk a good game without having to ever produce. Morale is non-existent.

    Advice to Management

Show your employees that you actually value them.

    Pros

Good benefits. The company has some great employees and there are a few good leaders.

    Cons

The culture leaves a lot to be desired. There are a few individuals in leadership positions because of who they know, not because they are good leaders. HR has entirely to much control of how the organization is run and they are far from a service organization.

    Advice to Management

With the new CEO coming on board, I would recommend he clean house of several Vice Presidents.

    Pros

Some people more than others are great to be around on a daily basis. Hard working shop personnel. Decent benefits, but not great.. Good stable environment, with lots of work. If you are interested in employment here, strongly recommend administrative job in front office. Otherwise you'll be very sorry.

    Cons

Where do I start? List is quite long. The corporation really treasures administrative staff, creating a very thick barrier between hourly employees, and front office. Customer Service staff is way over-pampered. They often goof-off then wait until the last minute to push everyone on the floor to make up excessive time they've wasted, selling girl scout cookies, little league raffle tickets, etc. LMI wants to boss you around, treat you like a slave, and cut into as much of your personal time as they can steal from you. They believe they own you. Very low pay, very little PTO. LMI needs to update its pay scale to the 21st century. Inexperienced rookie leads/supervisors have enormous egos and bad bossy attitudes, often creating a hostile work environment.

    Advice to Management

Pay scale in dire need of revisions. PTO also needs revising. Stop making employees hard efforts suffer for bad corporate acquisitions. Profit share. Stop the lame excuses, keep your promises! More appreciation for the shop production personnel. They make the product that sells. Not customer service. Get it through your thick heads!

    Pros

Hard working manufacturing hourly group that tries to make difference despite good old boy management constant failures.

    Cons

Reading other post it is a company wide issue, this is a good old boys club in management. These guys do not know what they are doing and it shows when things get slow. You get the "you need to work harder" speech once a more. They want to make quality product with out spending money for the right equipment. Treat office and non labor positions great, manufacturing gets the shaft.

    Advice to Management

Stop protecting a very weak leadership group and get people who care about the company and are not just there to cover their own butt.

    Pros

It's a decent job. Some of the people were friendly.

    Cons

The engineering services division of the company struggles to get new contracts. The project management does not seem to care about staying on schedule and generally has an adversarial view towards the contracting companies management. The managers repeatedly denigrate their management counterparts behind their backs. One manager even went so far as to draw cartoons that ridiculed the customer. It was very unprofessional and it embarrassing to work for the guy. There is no training, career path, or potential for advancement.

    Advice to Management

Rethink your leadership at the first level of management. They will cost you business opportunities in the future.

    Pros

I have absolutely nothing positive to say about this particular plant and location other than the operators you will work with on most shifts are all good hearted people

    Cons

Management does not value their operators not one single bit. Pay is horrible and raises are scarce and not given when you move up to a different level of machining that is supposed to come with a raise. There is a whole lot of discrimination against women at this plant as well. Men will get their raises for m moving up, women will not. Benefits have been taken away and cut. You work 12 hour shifts. Your opinion does not matter and you are not to question a single solitary thing that someone in a supervisor/management position tells you. If you do decide to ask questions then you have a bad attitude

    Advice to Management

Management at our plant is absolutely horrible. My advice for management is to listen to your operators and address their complaints and concerns in a professional manner. Dont ignore them. Stop telling your employees" If you dont like it then you can find another job, I have a stack of applications on my desk 4 inches tall" Because if that was the truth then this plant wouldnt be so understaffed and overworked. YOUR OPERATORS ARE YOUR MONEY MAKERS!!!!

    Pros

Lot's of overtime and job security. Monday-Friday job. Frequent free lunches and BBQ's. LMI has a lot of big contracts with big companies for a long time, so they will remain busy for a while.

    Cons

Management doesn't listen to ideas. They are quick to cover up scandals. Very very immoral management crew. Excessive drinking among employees that is overlooked by management. VERY under payed crew.

    Advice to Management

You work for your employees, not the other way around. Get rid of the egos.

    Pros

The Tulsa leadership team attempts to bring a fun, friendly culture to the employees; however, the corporate "help" stifles the team environment and turns against those trying to make a difference at the plant level.

    Cons

The "good ol' buddy boy' system is alive and well with the leadership changes taking place from the top through the director level. Lots & lots of overtime which makes up for the poor compensation. That is if you like working lots of hours. "Work/Life" balance is a joke. Unfortunate to see the paradigm falling apart as this was not the vision Ron Saks or Bob Grah had.

    Advice to Management

Have a look at the Director level and start there.... are they really the people you want representing the organization. Compensation .... you pay for what you get. Work/Life balance ... 50-60 hours a week???? Is this really a good balance?
