Former Employee – worked at LMKR full-time for less than a year
Pros – Office based job with possible local and international assignments. Petroleum Engineers with interests in software development, testing and support have only one and right choice, that is LMKR, being in Pakistan.
Cons – IT involved owing to which some Petroleum Engineers feel inappropriate.
Advice to Senior Management – Keep it up. You are working good.

Former Employee – worked at LMKR full-time for less than a year
Pros – 1. Big name ( that's not a pro for everyone ) - one of the very few, rather one out of the two, indigenous pakistani software firms selling enterprise software and making big money out of it, so you'll learn a lot if you know what you're doing
2. Shashka. get it?
Cons – 1. Typical "sasta" corporate culture
2. Sad salaries
comments: what type of people are happy at LMKR?
people who are already well off and want a job for time pass or to make connections and leave for studies abroad after 1-2 years
Advice to Senior Management – they're doing it right, their top developers are happy, anyone whose good, they can make management do stuff for them, which is totally fair.
other than that, advice: cmon? you kidding me? 5 thousand rupees as inflation fixture? learn to think, keep your people happy, pay them enough so their kitchen runs and they can afford a CNG car and have a family and stuff and still save 30k. that's fair. what's happening right now, isn't fair
software houses in I-8 pay more than LMKR does. ( isolated instances )
also
its a big name, usually when people leave lmkr they usually end up in ibm, some in telenor and few in teradata

Current Employee – been working at LMKR full-time for more than 7 years
Pros – Great management, amazing salary and working hours. You have a lot of flexibility in the work that you do as well. There are a lot of projects in the company so you can choose the technology that you want to work in. Also there is flexibility to move from one team to another so that you have better career growth.
Cons – Not so good working environment. There is too much noise in the office and people don't care for other people well being. The health insurance plan is not that good. Although the higher management is kind enough to help some people out but still i think they should try to make it better. There should be an incentive plan for employees as well (like cars or extra bonuses). Also there should be a bonus plan.
Advice to Senior Management – Get a better working environment, make incentive plans for employees and get a better health insurance plan

Current Employee – been working at LMKR full-time for more than 10 years
Pros – Great company for both starters and mid level. But opportunites are abound for even high end and 10+ yrs experienced GnG professionals
Cons – Too much expansion in a very short time and need more resources to fill in positions.. :-)

Current Employee – been working at LMKR full-time for more than 7 years
Pros – Good work environment
Good compensation packages
Opportunities for challenging, high-end work
Opportunities to work with highly skilled experienced resources
Cons – Weak policies and procedures, frequent resort to ad-hoc management
Getting on the wrong foot of senior management is suicidal
Lots of room for obsequiousness
Slow career advancement for most technical resources
Advice to Senior Management – Business decision-making should be more inclusive. LMKR has a lot of resources with immense potential, however there exists no forum to include even the senior-middle management in any form of decision-making. Senior management could potentially tap into a vast resource of alternate opinions if it lets the interaction with the resources be less one-way and vertical.

Current Employee – been working at LMKR full-time for more than 7 years
Pros – Geo Science domain oriented. Has clear future goals and objectives. Knows how to earn business. Is expanding day by day world wide. Very stable company.
Cons – You never know when your designation or higher level will be achieved. You need to know how to make access to top management. In other words no proper system to recognize your efforts. Someone else might take your credit.
Advice to Senior Management – HR needs to make policies which will help the employes rather they try to be rulers. There is a huge gap between HR and employees.
