Awesome place to work

Manager (Former Employee)
London, England (UK)

I worked at LOCOG full-time for more than 3 years

ProsGreat culture, really innovative projects, lots of responsibliity. The opportunity to do the Gmes in your home city is the best.

ConsEmbroiled in politics of games, and couldn't really fail so there was a lot of over the shoulder reporting going on.

Advice to Senior ManagementI think that the way the whole organisation was structured in the lead up to the Games could have been improved by changing the financial relationship with LOCOG.

An incredible experience with amazing people - a highlight of my career.

Senior Manager (Former Employee)
London, England (UK)

I worked at LOCOG full-time for more than a year

ProsA very fast-paced and focussed environment, working with largely 'can-do' colleagues who would go the extra mile. There was a fairly flat hierarchy and no time for egos and divas. People respected one another mainly, and delivered great results!

ConsLong, unsociable hours; you have to give up your life for a year or so. At times incredibly high pressure to meet tight deadlines. The very high profile work was always in the public eye and sometimes criticised in the press and by friends making it hard to stay motivated sometimes, though that soon changed after the Opening Ceremony. Shame it had to end!

Advice to Senior ManagementPeople management could have been better and you had to be tough and confident to just get on with the job. On the whole, though, Leadership was very good.

Great experience

Sales Team Member (Current Employee)
London, England (UK)

I have been working at LOCOG full-time for less than a year

ProsAmazing experience working at the London 2012 Olympic Games and meeting people from all over the world
Good pay and excellent employee bonus

ConsAlready over, very long shifts (worked almost 13 hours each day).
Worked in catering which although was subcontracted to other companies was overseen by LOCOG - lack of communication between departments and poor planning meant we were often running out of stock.
