Pros
pay, and compensation are ok, goals are well defined by managementvacation time communication is getting better use of management information systems
Cons
Unsructured processes, low employee moral, not a sexy industry, high rate of employee turnover at all positions, lack of leardership
Advice to Senior Management
pay more attention to employee needs and work conditions, your worker bee employees are the backbone of your core business
Pros
Cubicles are nice and computers are up to date. People are pleasant for the most part. Top management is trying to make things better, but it is difficult for them to do that with so many cutbacks.
Cons
Even though it is a large corporation, professionalism is lacking. There is no training for managers on how to be more effective and no training is provided for employees. There are few employee activities and those that exist are usually focused on asking employees to donate to charities. No raises were given to employees for about 10 years so it is difficult to give when you are not receiving.
Advice to Senior Management
Pay more attention to what is going on in the departments. Interview at least one employee per week to ask what improvements can be made. Don't wait until the exit interview.
Pros
It provides an income for my family. Varied and interesting work.
Cons
Not consistent when it comes to so called company policy, what ever suits on the day, disgusting behaviour. The rostering of shifts is not family friendly, needs reviewing.
Advice to Senior Management
Please be upfront with all staff instead of the deceitful behaviour which seems to be the order of the day.
Pros
Amazing opportunity to live in multiple countries, learn different areas of a business like operations, finance etc.
Cons
no raise for 3 years!
Advice to Senior Management
Be more competative for MBA graduates you recruit
Pros
You will work less hours than in most other production facilities. Generally, you have a set schedule. There is a good mix of nationalities and cultures, so diversity is accepted.
Cons
There has not been a pay increase in over 10 years. The union has established an environment of 'management vs. employees', that is difficult to manage around.
Advice to Senior Management
Prices in the world are rising at a rate that is faster than compensation. To live with any sense of comfort, we as employees need to be compensated better.
Pros
Pay is not so bad.
Cons
Disrespectful managers and demotivated employees.
Advice to Senior Management
Try to live by the company values.
Pros
getting train and leave for better job
Cons
you have to be learn everything by yourself
Pros
Good people who are dedicated to their jobs, otherwise they would leave. They don't stay because of the pay, and they certainly don't stay because they're respected or treated well.
Cons
No pay raises since 9/11. Only a select few are given pay increases, though for several years they company has given lip service to "trying" to work this issue out. Oddly, though, the executives get regular increases and huge bonuses. Executives need to come out of their cloistered area and talk to people. Better yet, LISTEN to people. Execs are completely tone deaf and insensitive to the low morale. NOT recommended as a place to work.
Advice to Senior Management
Come out of our ivory tower and listen to what the employees are trying to tell you. Company goals of "Respect" and "Trust" are not reflective of the reality of working there. Employees laugh cynically when they hear these statements.
Pros
Fast pace and gain a lot of experience supervising people.
Cons
Pay is not good compared to the mainland
Advice to Senior Management
Let your supervisors and managers supervise and manage their departments. Senior management micro manages too much
Pros
You might get the pay you are looking for, but you will earn every penny and more no a good company,
Cons
Hourly employees are not treated with respect Senior Management
Front line management is treated even worse by Senior Leadership
The company has not given pay increases in over 7 years
Hi pressure business with a bunch of messed up airlines for customers that have a bunch of people justifying their jobs.
Advice to Senior Management
Walter Gehl is a good guy, the problem in the US is Sondra Lehman, and Jeff Miller, neither of the have any industry experience, they know nothing about food service, customer service and could careless about taking care of people at any level, its all a show with now substance.
