    Pros

Working with the right team, they make me feel like i have a second family. Colleagues worked hard and knew when to play. Have work and life balance when i seek for it.

    Cons

Company is too focus in cost cutting and not revenue generating activities. Too many layoffs.

    Advice to Management

Focus on revenue generating activities and take bigger risks.

    Pros

People, people, people. At LSI, the people make the difference, especially in IT. From the CIO down, the IT staff were very knowledgeable and very easy to work with. And we were always provided with the latest and greatest technology, whenever it was needed to perform our functions.

    Cons

There were many times when vacation balances stopped accruing because there was rarely a good time to take time off. When that happened, it felt like you were losing money...

    Advice to Management

When times are profitable, consider increasing IT staffing to adequate levels...

    Pros

Balanced work/life and some interesting challenging works. Engineers skills are excellent.

    Cons

Too much of micro management and political fights. Some managers don't know when the day ends and the night begins. We suppose to be reached anywhere and anytime for any matters which can't wait until tomorrow?

    Pros

Good Pay and Benefits. Flexible work schedule to better balance work & Life. Good growth opportunity.

    Cons

Recurrent restructuring efforts and changes in strategies and directions. Limited long term view for overall company growth. Rapid changes in management at all levels.

    Advice to Management

After spending lot of time and effort, it will be better if you stick to a strategy you came up with for quite some time before giving it up and changing to a new one.

    Pros

Great benefits, strong team of engineers

    Cons

Marketing dept SVP has no direct marketing exp and not a strong leader, completely silo org, disconnected with the business units. Lot's of capable people - but absolutely no leadership. In addition, the entire team is confused as to their roles and responsibilities. A few legacy staff make everyone's life miserable.

    Advice to Management

Strong leaders provide vision and coaching - not simply "hire and fire" mentality. There should be clear roles and responsibilities. BUs are best served by having outbound marketing as part of their team - not by outsourcing it to corporate marketing.

    Pros

The company has a strong combination of benefits that can make the total compensation package more attractive than a straight salary comparison would indicate.
One of a shrinking number of companies with a sabbatical program.
The CTO has brought some new vision to the company.

    Cons

Becoming an increasingly political environment in the upper levels of the organization.
There has been some kind of "restructuring" every year for as long as I can remember.
When they try to enter a new market or customer base, they try to build it with insiders with limited experience in the new area. It means the learning curve is long and can be frustrating.

    Advice to Management

Look past what your being told and speak to the employees again. The CEO frequently did skip levels and sessions with the rank and file when he first started but that has stopped. The connection between the top and bottom of the organization needs to be restored.
