I worked at LSI full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Leading edge technology, and a fast paced environment.

    Cons

Senior management overcommitting to customer requests. While not necessarily a bad thing, it dissolves the need for Program Management's schedules.

Great people, friendly work environment, ... that was before Avago layoffs.

    I worked at LSI

    Pros

Strong work ethics, good teamwork, nice new building, trying to emulate perks in other high-tech companies.

    Cons

Matured products heading towards zero market differentiation. Uninspiring senior leadership team grasping for new innovation, supported by so-so VP and director levels. Selling to Avago was cop out to savage lackluster business strategy.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

To Avago, ride the Apple wave as much as you can, but take heed of the HP fallacy. Sustainable growth comes through organic innovation, can't be bought through acquisitions.

    Pros

    Paycheck nothing else

    Cons

They lay people off in groups of ten, soon as 11/1 rolls around.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Maybe organize the company better so you don't need to do that.

    I worked at LSI

    Pros

LSI was a great company. Good people, good leadership, no debt.

    Cons

Avago Technologies bought them in May of 2014 and the company just began to unravel. Avago works on a skeleton crew and their motto is "Good enough". It became apparent very quickly that Avago only bought LSI in order to make money off of it's parts. They never intended to keep the company intact. The Allentown, PA employees have faded away to nothing.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Avago needs a new CEO. That is their only hope.

    Cons
