I have been working at LSI full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Used to be a great company to work for, yes we worked hard, but it always paid off and people were recognized

    Cons

No telecommuting, no 360 reviews of management, people chosen alas leaders for storage, majority don't know the business and could care less about employes. Hock being given a snow job by marketing where SW test/dev is upfront and truthful. Customer marketing is a joke, little to no training, customers demand people to be removed from their accounts. Retaliation and discrimination is allowed, those involved get promoted instead of shown the door

    Pros

Avago Tech seems to be committed to it's business model.

    Cons

Reduced investment in research and developement and the outsourcing of skilled jobs makes LSI a hard company to work for.

I worked at LSI full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

LSI offered good benefits. LSI has very talented employees; the most talented of all the companies I've worked with. Employees are willing to work with you. Despite its size, LSI was able to adjust to changes in the market and industry to stay competitive. Middle management is very accessible.

    Cons

Some groups lack organization and structure, which I think reduces their productivity. There is little communication between groups which causes some things to fall through the cracks. The "Cons" listed above were even more evident after the Avago acquisition. Avago business units seem to have little communication, let along coordination, between each other.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Improve communication and coordination between business units.

    Pros
