    I worked at LUKOIL part-time

    Pros

Management is laid back, allowed to work the gas station by yourself, lots of freedom, management role available depending on your experience with running gas stations

    Cons

Job pays minimum wage or in my case $8.00/hour with barley any opportunity for raises, tough to use as experience to get into a coorporate position

    Pros

Its like getting a tooth pulled that you did not need to. Some day the pain will only be a memory

    Cons

Dictatorial management that operates in cliques. Much internecine back stabbing. Low quality of employees. Unprofessional work environment. Sweat shop work environment. The bosses thieve and the employees grieve.

    Advice to Management

Fire everybody (including yourselves) and start over.

    Pros

    Friendly atmosphere in Astana office; office is equipped with a good kitchenette, which the headquarters doesn't; social package is average, compared to other companies of the same field; competetive salary with quarterly and annual bonuses;

    Cons

Little or no room for career growth; soviet style of management, having someone in the upper levels of management guarantees that you get promotion quicker and in better offices around the world; crucial decisions regarding the development of the regional activity is taken spontaneously, there were two redundancy waves during my time.

    Advice to Management

Although the President of LUKOIL tells that the management should use the internal human resources, the management does the vice versa. Many of my colleagues who were made redundant were very loyal to the company, defending its interests inside and outside the company. You should not regard loyal personnel like that, since it is not motivating the remaining staff.

    Pros

Lots of challenging tasks with restricted deadlines that help you develop time and crisis management skills.

    Cons

Lack of a well-established corporate culture and efficient management system.

    Advice to Management

It would be much better if the company could put more emphasis on the development of young professionals with training, rotation and international assignments based on merit.

    Pros

Compensation is ok and allowances are quite generous

    Cons

HR lives in the alternative reality, thinking that it owns people. You will be treated badly in case you don't have some high posiioned relatives in HQ. No such thnig as business ethics. Several cliques based are constantly fighting for power. Benefits system is not transparent. Organisational culture is pure soviet type, no internantional practises live for long

    Advice to Management

Ask your employees what do they think of HR and organizational development. Try to improve
