    Pay and benefits are great

    Cons

Office culture was the worst experience I have ever had. Dodging bullets daily.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stand up to the problems and take care of the talent. Put an end to power struggles and get a team working together on all 4 cylinders.

I have been working at La Senza full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Training, employees I worked with were lovely, realistic work/life balance.

    Cons

Merchandise did NOT sell itself, company forced robotic lines upon employees to use with customers.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Have a little faith, your employees can sell, they are trained well! Let them be themselves a little and enough with the "target audience" line, they are off putting for the customers and employees.

I worked at La Senza full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Creativity is encouraged, good compensation and bonus plan, most managers are flexible about taking time off. Brand is owned by L Brands (Limited Brands) and corporation offers many benefits from great 401K plan and employee training to decent cafeteria and fitness classes.

    Cons

Specific to La Senza (not other L Brands companies), much of middle management is promoted before they are ready/mature enough to handle their new position. This results in mismanaged teams, preferential treatment, overworked and frustrated team members and cattiness. Cadence is unorganized and chaotic. There is also definite problems in lack of communication and micro-management.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Senior management needs to address the bigger issues plaguing the various teams including those listed in cons instead of hiding the problems behind give-aways and treats.

Info about the company is out of date. La Senza is now owned by L Brands and headquartered in Columbus, Oh. Brand president is Michele Cloutier. Ms. Nemeroff is longer with the company.

I have been working at La Senza part-time (more than a year)

    Pros

With sales target being so hard to achieve due to our merchandise being so expensive, you develop and learn how to really sale items.

    Cons

We did not get any staff discount on top of sale promotions which was really bad. With most of the things in store being on promotion most of the time, we most of the time paid just as much as our customers for the items.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I worked at La Senza part-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

Loved working here when it was a Canadian company. Training and co workers were excellent.

    Cons

-When bought out by Victoria Secret, the company went right down hill for employees.
-Specifically aim to sell to women 18-30.
    -no room to grow

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Broaden your customer base. Advertise to everyone, not just the young and beautiful. Offer employees a reasonable discount (one thats not the same as the "sale" pricing you offer customers)

    Pros

    discount at sister stores
    flexible schedule

    Cons

    few hours
    work not recognized
cheap company - not willing to give raises
    terribly managed company
    zero training for associates
expected to drop everything and come in to work if they call you last minute

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Give higher raises to employees - less than a dollar over 3 years is inexcusable.
created a better training program for new associated (actually training them would be a good start)
Have a more open door policy

I worked at La Senza part-time

    Pros

Fun work environment! Lots of incentives offered by the company for achieving goals. The company focuses a lot on talent, which is smart in retail. Lots of opportunity for leadership roles within the store, whether it be co-manager, store manager or key holder. Super flexible schedule with school! Great company to work for.

    Cons

The only real negative thing I can say about my experience with La Senza were the last minute visual changes. Coming from a lower volume store, sometimes it was hard to organize a last minute visual change with bery little staff.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Keep doing what you're doing!
