I have been working at La Senza full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Training, employees I worked with were lovely, realistic work/life balance.

    Cons

Merchandise did NOT sell itself, company forced robotic lines upon employees to use with customers.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Have a little faith, your employees can sell, they are trained well! Let them be themselves a little and enough with the "target audience" line, they are off putting for the customers and employees.

I worked at La Senza full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

    Pay and benefits are great

    Cons

Office culture was the worst experience I have ever had. Dodging bullets daily.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stand up to the problems and take care of the talent. Put an end to power struggles and get a team working together on all 4 cylinders.

I worked at La Senza full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Creativity is encouraged, good compensation and bonus plan, most managers are flexible about taking time off. Brand is owned by L Brands (Limited Brands) and corporation offers many benefits from great 401K plan and employee training to decent cafeteria and fitness classes.

    Cons

Specific to La Senza (not other L Brands companies), much of middle management is promoted before they are ready/mature enough to handle their new position. This results in mismanaged teams, preferential treatment, overworked and frustrated team members and cattiness. Cadence is unorganized and chaotic. There is also definite problems in lack of communication and micro-management.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Senior management needs to address the bigger issues plaguing the various teams including those listed in cons instead of hiding the problems behind give-aways and treats.

Info about the company is out of date. La Senza is now owned by L Brands and headquartered in Columbus, Oh. Brand president is Michele Cloutier. Ms. Nemeroff is longer with the company.

I worked at La Senza as a contractor (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Flexibility, holidays, 20% discount, great atmosphere, working with lovely stock, great team of girls, learn how to give excellent customer service, Amazing brand.

    Cons

After Alshaya bought us in 2012 everything went downhill. All our hours got cut some girls from 40 hours pw to 24...shifts got shortened so you would be In 4 or 5 days doing 4 hour shifts instead of in 3 days doing 9 hour shift, infact alot of the time you were in doing 6 hour shifts and no break at all.No incentives and reduced our staff discount..I could go on and on

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Gice a little back to your staff and it would pay dividends instead of of expecting everyone to drop everything, work their backside off and what for ...Nothing! Total disregard to peoples work/family life balance, Hr are so cheeky and snooty while also incompetent at their job! Alshaya ....La Senza UK have now ceased to trade so you didnt exactly do a good job of making a comeback for us ha

I worked at La Senza full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

There is a lot of training on how to sell the product and how to educate women on wearing the right size garments

    Cons

you are working in retail usually with people in their late teens to early twenties. They can be unrelaible or unmotivated. I found management to be secretive about how well you are doing and then ambush you at meetings about your performance in front of other managers.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

get the right team behind you because one bad person can ruin everything. Make sure management is behind you because i found that if they wanted you out they were not shy about it.

I have been working at La Senza part-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

There are still people there that know how to do a good job and take pride in helping customers.

    Cons

low pay, unorganized ,no communication, filthy working conditions, no fun, no teamwork, everybody out for themselves, work like a dog and unappreciated, no advancement,

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Value your employees and communicate. If you pat a dog on the back he will run for miles.Try acknowledging the excellent staff that is there. Try to pull your socks up and provide a good example. Work logically.

I worked at La Senza part-time (more than an year)

    Pros

    I like the discount
    The people there
    More personal level with customers
    Knowing all the deals first
Getting to save all your sizes and get them first
Always having matching bra and panties
First dibs on semi annual sales
    Bonus for reaching target goals

    Cons

Visuals require way too much work (heavy lifting .. Stacked bins of bras, moving around drawers) not worth getting paid minimum wage to do that kind of labour

I've worked there for 2 years and only got a raise of 50 cents.
