I have been working at LaSalle University part-time (less than a year)

    Pros

There is always something different to work on and something new that comes your way. Therefore, very seldom get "bored"...good community...fits well into schedule

    Cons

The internet is very sketchy which makes it somewhat difficult to do work at times...outdated office space makes it feel some trapped.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Could keep up with employees and check in more often

I worked at LaSalle University full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Like most higher ed institutions, the opportunity to earn a master's degree. Very nice people for the most part.

    Cons

Limited opportunity for growth and career development. Very few professional development opportunities. Lazy/incompetent employees aren't held accountable and are able to coast into retirement. This creates a situation where good employees aren't able to shine and are forced to leave while bad employees remain in management roles.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Shake up mid and upper management. Encourage younger employees to stay and take on leadership roles to provide new ideas and perspectives.

Amazing environment with help ready to help. As a part time worker I was compensated for any additional work done over what was accepted.

    Cons

Nothing bad to say I love the environment and the students

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep it going and hire more fulltime people.

I have been working at LaSalle University full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

The atmosphere is pleasant and laid back depending on which department you work in. The University offers many perks, such as summer Fridays off, substantial vacation/sick time, holiday breaks, flexibility, tuition remission, and great people to work with. The University is very caring and focuses on the students and the neighboring community.

    Cons

While working for La Salle has many perks, there are not many opportunities for growth or for earning a higher salary. Also, like many small private universities, change is slow-going and when it comes to being competitive, La Salle is somewhat behind the rest of the schools in the area.

I worked at LaSalle University part-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Facilities were updated and helpful for classroom instruction.

    Cons

No training or support for new employees; poorly defined objectives for both educational and business .

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Related to the Math and Computer Science Department - There is a significant need to formalize the support for new employees particularly as adjunct professors. A mentoring program or support structure is needed as well as defined objectives for the education process.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

No advice. They are friendly and very flexible with students.

I have been working at LaSalle University full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

    Benefits and benefits about average.

    Cons

No growth opportunities and no employee values. Limited direction from management and negativity abounds toward employees. Tuition is extremely high with very low compensation for employees in all fields of education and business areas for a large well known university in a major city. Revenue bonds were purchased for over 101 million in 2012.
