good at first then it went downhill

Reboxing (Current Employee)
Lewiston, ME

I have been working at Labor Ready full-time for less than a year

Proswork today get paid today

Conspediofiles, and minorities seem to be getting the jobs first !

Advice to Senior Managementcater to the more experienced and leave the pediofiles last, they chose to be that way,let them lay in there bed ,"crime isn't suppose to pay"! as for the immagrants I know that there are TAX incentives on hiring them, but there is a limit, they should of stayed in there home country instead of bumping us!

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend

Pointless other than pocket money.

Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

I worked at Labor Ready

ProsIf you can't get anything anywhere else, even collecting aluminum cans, go there.

ConsIf you're working here, there is only one step lower and that is prison.

Advice to Senior ManagementNothing to add.

A satisfying and challenging employer to work with.

Customer Service Representative (Current Employee)
Tacoma, WA

I have been working at Labor Ready full-time for less than a year

ProsThe job is very challenging and really helps employees develop independence and strength as good workers.

ConsYou have to be ready to take on a heavy work load immediately, and handle it all with little hand-holding. The potential laborers can also be a rough crowd to deal with, but are in the end nice people.

However, there were several times management covered up injuries to prevent reports to Labor and Industries.

Advice to Senior ManagementHaving a stronger focus on training and covering all the steps necessary would be a huge benefit to the employees.

Labor Ready can put you to work if they wish.

Laborer (Current Employee)
Springfield, IL

I have been working at Labor Ready full-time for less than a year

ProsI feel that working for Labor Ready gives people an opportunity to explore different forms of employment while still being able to have some form of income.

ConsThe Labor Ready here in Springfield has a tendency to play favoritism to people who have worked for them in the past. It does not matter if you are more qualified and arrived before the person they have had work for them in the past.

Advice to Senior ManagementIs the person qualified, right for the job, have transportation, and the is person first to get there one that given day.

They suck in flint

Day Laborer (Former Employee)
Flint, MI

I worked at Labor Ready full-time for more than a year

ProsI cannot say a good thing about the Flint office.

ConsWait hours for jobs then hours more for a check.

Advice to Senior ManagementGet some different people to run the Flint branch. They do not treat the day laborers like a person, only a paycheck for them.Make you wait for hours EVERY Friday for your tiny check.

Turned out to be a nightmare

Branch Manager (Current Employee)
Wilkinsburg, PA

I have been working at Labor Ready full-time for more than 5 years

ProsFlexible/early work schedule
You get to meet really great people
Not you rtypical "office" job

Conswork/on-call 24/7
Never get a day off- even if you are taking vacation someone (office, answering service, alarm company) is calling you.
Long days = no family/social life

Advice to Senior ManagementOrganize a team that will work well together - quit firing everyone when they get to close
Do not hire on managers that have not worked in the field, these people tend to be control freaks and do not work out well.
Treat others as you would want to be treated

I have been working at Labor Ready as a contractor for less than a year

ProsIf you need money and learn work experience.

ConsThere is usually dirty people there and especially in the winter season not always work. You could go and sit there all morning for nothing.
